Sorry, typo. Should have been 'hot'. But i get you.
Mine suffer from same symptom. The expert air conditioning guy told me the cooling coil might have leaked.

~1k for cooling coil replacement.

Here's my story:

I did a air conditioning system clean before. Cost me about rm600. No change on the compressor and coil. But new gas. It was cold for a time being. Eventually after about 7 to 8 months, wasn't cold again in the afternoon especially.

I then went to this well known air conditioning shop. He took a look, and told me that the compressor for zc21 is very reliable. Rarely at fault. A little sluggish in the afternoon but still good. 1 of the main symptom was an arcing sound when the days are hot, like in the afternoon.
The reason for the arcing sound, gas pressure low. The guy added in gas and told me that i should not hear that sound again, until the gas pressure becomes low. And yes, the sound is back again after about 6 to 8 months. The main suspect was the cooling coil, and he seems quite sure. I believe too, because both places told me nothing wrong with the compressor.

My is zc72s. Is compressor as good as zc21?

I believe mine might damaged because i had one big hit...speed over an unmarked speed bump and landed hard. Another is light hit over a car's back.

Not sure about your model though. Not sure if they use the same type of compressors.

But i know the feeling. It's hard to get a good trusted air conditioning mechanic.

It's the 5w40 engine oil. Use 30v next round. Should improve.
