I know this may be unrelated as I'm using a Toshiba laptop, but I wud like receive some feedback. blush.gif

My laptop- Satellite L-50 A (i 54200 M), 15.6" screen, bought 2014, heats up quickly, especially d right side of keyboard. This causes discomfort when I use it for > 1.5 hrs, like typing.

1) Is this normal wif other laptops, e.g. Lenovo?
2) What causes laptops to heat up so much in short period of time, like d Lenovo cases mentioned earlier by fellow forumers?
3) CPU temperature is 46 degrees Celsius after > 1.5 hrs of use. Is it normal?

Thx in advanced 4 any feedback. notworthy.gif

CPU temperature at 46 degree celsius is completely fine, considering the hot weather in Malaysia. As long as your laptop does not shut down, then it should be okay. My Lenovo laptop heats up within 5 minutes of usage, and the whole laptop is very hot hahaha. It happens probably because the CPU itself is located at the middle of the whole system, when it generates heat, the heat flow to ambient conducted through the heat sink from the CPU, this heat is usually trapped underneath your laptop if your laptop has no external cooler.

Well, if it causes discomfort, just get an external keyboard. Problem arises once your laptop starts to shut down unexpectedly.

I appreaciate yr feedback. wink.gif But I think I'll juz hav 2 bear wif d heaty keyboard. Gettting an external keyboard may be too much of hassle to me. tongue.gif
