QUOTE(lude86 @ Mar 3 2016, 05:25 PM)
I have this issue now. I joined a company in Dec 2015 as my first official job. I opened my tax file in Jan 2016 and my first salary in Jan 2016. So, apparently I must file for 2015 by April. But I didn't really earn anything in 2015 (supported by parents/family, then did some work for some friends, they paid me some money but nothing official). Of course I have some money in bank from family, etc.
What to declare for 2015 earnings? RM0?
I'm scared LHDN will ask how I lived and have money in account.  unsure.gif

if your income is less than RM3k per month, no need to pay tax. You don't have to be scared. I start pay tax after 3-4 years working. Money you get from parent/family is not your income bro. It's donation. Donation no need to pay tax ma.

Definitely you had paid extra because there's a RM 2k special relief for YA 2015 only!

*Annual taxable is up to RM 96k
*
Isn't that for people with income less than RM8k per month?

Sorry for the confusion!

If BIK is not taxable, no need to consider as your HR will list this under Section G of the EA form/statement

Benefits-in-kind

No need to put as it is not subjected to tax. Company provides you additional benefits in the term of tangible form.

Understood. Thanks again. Didn't get the RM2k tax relief. sad.gif but I had paid extra tax. At least get some refund. Can't believe that my tax amount for last year is more that my 1 month salary. Work for 12 month but get around 11 month salary only.

I should getting the refund base on amount stated in "Tax paid excess" or "Latest tax paid in excess" ?

N why last year they refunded much lesser than the amount stated in "Tax paid in excess" ?
*
Probably you still have certain amount of tax that you need to paid for previous year? I had this issue when I switch to different job. 1st year of new job didn't pay enough tax and scheduled that insufficient amount to be paid in 12-month installment thru salary deduction. 2 year on new job, after declaring tax got some excess tax paid. So, they just offset the extra amount to cover the remaining few months installment. Installment end earlier than scheduled.

QUESTION : I had my gallbladder removed last year, is this claimable under Perbelanjaan perubatan bagi penyakit yang sukar diubati atas diri sendiri, suami/isteri atau anak?
*
I think you can claim it since that is not a common procedure. Nobody want to remove it if nothing wrong with it. Did you pay by yourself or using insurance to pay for you?

Hi, sorry if this has been answered before as i got a little bit confused.

May I know if Transport Allowance is a tax exemption? under Traveling Allowance. If Yes, should employer put it under tax exemption (F section) or we had to deduct manually from the total income.

I call LHDN customer service and they informed me to put whatever it stated in (C section). Means the transport allowance is not a tax exemption if your employer did not deduct it from your total earning and put it in section F.

Hi

I had the same question as you last year, and no, transport allowance is not travelling allowance and not tax exempt.

If ever in doubt, please clarify with your HR/payroll.

Cheers
