my last year refund only credit after i call to escalate, I wonder if the refund efficiency also depend on the refund amount? or should be based on submit date. I got almost 600 need to refund this time

If the amount is too big, they'll want to KIV for review and probably audit also

Also those who submitted for house loan interest relief and/or SSPN relief which can be easily create filing mistakes.

I dun think rm600 is a big amount.
My last year rm300 also not refunded until june. I have to call LHDN two times to follow up then only credit the refund to me.

From what i see here the refund usually is within 2 week after submit. i submitted on 2nd Mar, i belive i can call on Monday morning.

called LHDN this morning, they told me the refund is in process. If not get it within 30 days from date of submission, they ask me to directly ask for the cawangan who handle my refund, in my case is cawangan shah alam.

i wonder is it the cawangan shah alam slow in this kind of process. I face the same issue with this last year.

Just received this letter from lhdn.
So what they mean is they will check my file.
If nothing informed from them within 3 months. I can just call to ask for refund?

Or this is simply an excuse for them to delay payment?

hmm.gif just from my previous encounters after receiving these letters.
they will not contact you......
you have to contact them,...bring along your submitted data...(ex, BE form, EA form, receipts (proofs) of the items you claimed during the submission of the BE form)...they need to verify the data submitted.

well, that is just my encounters....hope yours are not the same.

last time also my friend got a letter like that.  i then called about it and asked.  then they were questioning some thing on the reply.  I don't understand Malay so I told them.  Then the girl (speaks like a newbie) laughed, and just said never mind.

Just call them and ask what the letter is all about.  So you can get your refund ASAP.

I unable to call the Shah Alam Branch for the detail this morning (semua sibuk)

so I call 1800 LHDN general line, and the person help me check and notice I didnt enter my dividend taxable income even I have enter it in HK-6 form
In last year, when I enter HK-6, it auto populate the taxable income & tax paid from the HK-6 to the main form, but not this year.
This year it populate only the tax paid to main form but not the taxable income. So it turn out that they deduct the extra tax paid in total but no dividend taxable income.

The official tell me to bring all my form to Shah Alam branch to settle, what a mess rclxub.gif

1. received letter from LHDN about delay in tax refund
2. go LHDN office to submit all doc for audit
3. call LHDN on status bi weekly basis and they mention 'dah selesai', wait for another 2 week for refund
4. now is 2nd week, no refund yet but get another letter about i need to pay them 60++ WTH!!!

Based on the calculation, my PCB deduction was way higher than the 'tax dikenakan'.
Question is where is my extra PCB payment gone?
Plan to call them tmr morning, still thinking how to due with them.

finally got my money, sharing my process here wink.gif

Mar 03 - E Filing
Mar 22 - received letter from LHDN about delay in tax refund
Apr 08 - head to LHDN shah alam and submit my document for audit after listen to forum member this can faster the refund process.
xxxxx - call in bi-weekly basis to check audit statusand finally they mention 'dah selesai', wait for another 2 week for refund
May 19 - received letter about i need to pay them 60++
May 20 -
1. call LHDN audit department to confirm the 60++, they mention they just to calculate and send letter, checking PCB and get balance is not their role, then give another number (bahagian peruntungan) blink.gif
2. call bahagian peruntungan about my balance, they say audit is done, LHDN will pay me back rm590 after deduct that rm60. Ask them when can they refund, they say is not their role, give me another number (bahagian payback) ranting.gif
3. call bahagian payback, they say payment not in process, and confirm my case can close, so will now process my payback (the process is not automate???). vmad.gif
May 26 - call bahagian payback again because not received money back yet, and they say the status is approved on May 24. Ask me to wait about 12 days - 30 days puke.gif
May 27 - Money finally in rclxm9.gif

If i want to change LHDN office from shah alam to cheras. I just need to walk in to shah alam office to apply to transfer, right? Do i need to pay a visit to cheras office?

Usually how much time they will need to transfer?

Hi all, want to ask for following situation.

If one is working in oversea and salary is paid into saving account in foreign country. He is paying income tax in that country.

1. Does he need to pay malaysia income tax?

2. If he wire transfer money to his malaysia saving account. Does the amount consider an "income" in malaysia? So need to declare ?

3. If he wire transfer money to his parent account for parent living cost. Does it consider an "income" to the parent? Is there a need to declare?

QUOTE(cherroy @ Jan 23 2017, 09:47 AM)
In this situation, then it is a foreign income source, as the income has been taxed at foreign country.

1) No need.

2) As it is a foreign income, so it is tax exempted and he is not a tax resident of Malaysia as well.

3) No, it is not an income for the parent.

But do keep those foreign income source documentation for future reference, as it is the proof to show those are foreign income.
*
for the 2nd item, what do you mean that he is not a tax resident of malaysia?
He is still a malaysia citizen currently.
Or do you mean because the source of income already taxed in foreign country, then the transfered money is tax exempted?
