i understand this year , we can claim the "parents support" fees like RM 3K relief for those who support their parents, anyone know how that works and which section we can claim that relief?

Do i need to share that 3K with my sisters if they are not working?

hi all

If i have a condo with joint name ownership with my wife which i have rented it out, how should i declare the rental income and expense (i.e : maintenance fees and etc) in my BE? is it all the expense and income for that rental split 50-50 with my wife ? My wife declares her tax individually using her BE form and not join with me

if i buy medical card insurance for my mother, can I declare that as tax deduction under the "parents medication" section?

thanks

* Telah melupuskan syer dalam syarikat harta tanah dan/atau harta tanah di bawah Akta Cukai Keuntungan Harta Tanah 1976"

Telah melaporkan pelupusan tersebut kepada LHDNM?

Should i asnwer YA or TIDAK for the above two questions if i have sold off a house in 2015 that is > 5 years old and LHDN sent me a letter mentioned i won't be taxed under RPGT because it was > 5 years since i owned that house?

For the parents tax relief which is 3k which i understand i have to divide it among all the siblings i have, if one my sister has migrated to Singapore and she is no longer a malaysian citizen, do i still need to count her in here when i divide the 3k amount?

If my dad is semi retired and he has certain income (he does not file in eBE because his total income is below the taxable income), can i still submit that 3k tax relief for my dad ? My mother is a house wife

Thanks

Q1: You only count those siblings who are going to file for the same parents tax relief; not total number of siblings.

For the SVDP (SPECIAL VOLUNTARY DISCLOSURE PROGRAMME) which now IRD is promoting and asked everyone to participate before 31 march 2019 to get the minimum penalty, if i have an Australia saving account that was opened 8 years ago which only has Aussie dollar 100 (My initial deposit) which i never touch in the past 8 years, do i need to declare it?

if i need to declare it, what is the process? thanks

For the Special Voluntary Disclosure scheme (SVDC) that will end this month end, anyone know how to calculate the Rate of Penalty which is 15% ?

for example, let say i declare RM10,000 which i did not declare in 2016 e-filing, is it i need to pay the penalty of RM1500 (15% of RM10000) to IRD in this month ?

Anyone know how to submit the declaration to enjoy the 15% penalty rate? Is it i i need to go to IRD office to fill a form and pay the penalty on the spot ? Appreciate anyone who has participated in this SVDC share the process here.

thanks..i read the guidelines, it did not give example how to calculate that 15% penalty rate so i would like to confirm is it 15% over the declared income or other formula they use here.

it said i can write email to declare it, what to include in that email such as do i need to mention the source of my undeclared income such as from rental and etc? Do i pay the penalty 15% right after i write that email to LHDN or i have to wait until they acknowledge my email and confirm my declared income is OK and instruct me to pay that 15% penalty later ? this is the part i need some clarifications here...

normal penalty = max 300%. SVDC = 15%.

Penalty =/= tax rate. you got the idea totally wrong.

ya, i know..that's why i was asking my question here, is it like what rapper said, If lets say my tax bracket is 21% that year than is 21% x 10k (Undeclared income) = 2100 tax payable + 15% fine - RM315 = Total RM2415

If the additional 10k of income raises my tax bracket than my initial tax filing also have under paid tax + penalty. Is that correct?

That it is for your study cost than maintenance of membership. So, cannot claim as relief.

thanks for your reply then i won't claim my PMP membership renewal course fees there.

Actually government should not limit this to only degree or master course, we as citizen continue to acquire new knowledge from other means to increase our professional knowledge as part of the continuous improvement to up skill our our knowledge to do our works better in our own field.

my father is 83 years old and retired, but he has a rental income of RM20K per year, in the past few years, i did submit eBE for him and no tax was paid due to the yearly income is so small

May i know do i still need to submit eBE for him every year with such a low rental income ? Or i can just forget about it and stop the eBE submissions starting this year?

ya, i saw this note too, some of those TCM practitioners do register with MMC but under the "alternative, complimentary , traditional treatment" section under MOH, they do have the recognized certificate that looks like this : https://ustazamindarussyifa.com/sijil-perakuan-pengamalan/ (This is from a Malay tabib) , not sure can we include them in our parent medical claim if they do issue us the receipt.
