I have a child 18 years and above and studying in college. do i claim relief for 1x8000 and also 1x 2000 ?
or if I claim 1x8000, i cant claim the 1x2000 ? since I contribute to EPF (more than RM 4000), can I claim the contribution to EPF / approve scheme RM 4000 ? This post has been edited by ccschua: Mar 8 2023, 04:39 PM |

assuming I m retired at 55.
I have a EPF saving of 2 Mil as well as a housing loan (2nd house) of 2 Mil. which is better : A. I could have withdrawn all EPF to pay off the debt of the 2nd home (debt free) and declare rental income and get tax. B. continue EPF withdrawal to settle monthly debt. do not need to declare to IRS for rental income as its used to offset installment. |

QUOTE(MUM @ Apr 25 2024, 09:25 AM) With kwsp dividend rate normally more than the housing loan interest rate see response above. Would be good to have some added info like these too. Your 2 mil in kwsp can earn how much money pa? assume 5.5% per annum. Your 2nd housing loan interest is how much pa? 4.4% per annum Your 2nd property can rent out for how much per month? 8k per month. Your monthly repayment of the 2nd property is how much? 12k option A will attract tax while option B (with the rental not even enough to set off the monthly installment) This post has been edited by ccschua: Apr 25 2024, 09:50 AM |

today my property management office issue a letter to owner, request by LHDN to furnish owner detail of property to LHDN.
does that mean LHDN will come and check all individual property owner and enforce rental ? |

QUOTE(patricktoh @ Mar 8 2025, 12:25 PM) Check section F "Jumlah elaun .... dikecualikan cukai" in your EA form. If the allowance is eligible for exemption, then it should appear here. Else don't simply deduct from total. thanks so much. this clears the air. section F mentions amount dikecualikan cukai. My car, petrol & travelling allowance registered at section F and the amount was not added to total income subject for tax. since I didnt claim this deduction last year, can I declare 2023 deduction this year ? I did not know that losses from property (interest + other expensive vs rental) can be aggregated against loan free income. can I still go back to Hasil for backdated claims ?

noted your points, however, Refering to attached para 7.1, it shows that negative rental can be offset against others.
so far, IRA is not against this. am i missing something ? Attached File(s)

QUOTE(MUM @ Apr 4 2025, 10:39 AM) totally agree on this example 14. so now is it possible to rework my past claims and submit to IRA for retro claims (Since IRA has audit rights to 7 years on my claim) ? |

Hi, I made substantial withdrawal from PTPTN and deposit into EPF at the beginning of the year. the year end has come, I need to deposit 8k + whatever withdrawn.
problem is the withdrawn amount that is placed in EPF is difficult to be taken out, can I submit children university bill to substantiate ? or just skip 1 year. |
