Lifestyle tax relief will only commence from YA2017.

YA2016 is the last year for those who would like to claim for computer purchase (RM 3k every 3 years).
*
Hence i bought my PC end of Dec last year... max the 3k

Otherwise next year no more PC relief to take advantage of anymore....

You can sacrifice others and claim RM 2.5k for next purchase under the new tax relief.
*
Whats the point if you sacrifice others and claim the PC? It amounts to no claim wor...

My Unifi alrdy hit 2150 annually... books (yes I do read haha), easily cap it out.

So PC is a no claim item for me... hope next 3 years something changes

2.5k yearly life style better than 3k for every 3 years, thats only 1k per year. rather to have 2.5 x 3 = Rm7.5k tax relief vs RM3k every 3 years.
*
Um, thats fairly obvious bro.

See my original post, I'm pointing out its good to take advantage of the final year 3k PC claim before the Lifestyle relief is implemented.

Register for online e-filing.

Then just fill in the forms, the e-filing is idiot proof, you cant go wrong even if you wanted to.

so... what i understand now, i only need to request Pin no. from LHDNM office then fill up e-filling & pay correct? after that all done?
*
Ya, the calculation you dont have to worry about it. Wait for your EA form from your HR. Get the e-filing pin etc. Then just fill in online. Fairly straight forward. Dont wait for last minute, just incase u run into problems you have time to ask/check.

As far as i know, receipt has to be under the taxpayer name then only is entitled for the tax relief.
*
But your above quote it states "for self, spouse, or child" no need to mention that as long as we have the receipt right?

You can buy for self, spouse or child, but receipt has to be under taxpayer name for tax relief purpose.
*
In that case they shouldnt have even mention spouse/child.

As long as the receipt under my name I just claim, even if its a laptop for my dog...

Or better yet, ask for receipts with no name attached... hmm.gif

it depends what is written in your EA form. if your December salary paid in 3rd Jan 2019, is it YA2018 or YA2019? so it all boils down to which month payslip and what is written in EA form. Because employer has to fill up Borang E to submit to LHDN and the amount you submit to LHDN has to tally.
*
This is what I use, whatever is in the EA.

When you actually get the physical "money" is not so important

while waiting fopr responses,
i googled and found these, hope you can try this for some added info....
Higher tax relief for insurance and EPF in 2019 assessment - IRB

On paper says higher rebate..

BUT... its actualyl a conjob.

Last time it was KWSP+Insurance.

Now they each have their own bracket and while the overall is raise form 6000 to 7000... do take into consideration some people does not have insurance. So in the long run the govt is likely to end up profiting on this. i.e. more people gettign capped at 4000 for their KWSP instead of the 6000 they could have enjoyed.

So even if I'm the insured, and I'm the one paying, if I'm not named as the policy owner, I can't claim for tax relief?
*
You're out of luck then.

Just like Unifi only the account holder claim, regardless who pays, who's house it is, who using it etc
