That was a long time ago. Now is only valid for laptop once every 3 years. Max is rm3k. Hence your laptop should have a budget of max rm3k and nothing more.

i see okay, thanks.

The new tax rate upon the implementation of GST is already in effect this year (2015) from Budget 2015. It'll affect those which have annual taxable income below RM 1 million. All tax brackets could observe a reduction of 1 to 3%.

However, starting 2016, those earning annual taxable income above RM 600k will see an increase of 3 to 4%

Up till now, the table for 2015 is not released yet? Just hope they dont back track on this.

I have been reading some articles about the EPF 8% vs 11% deduction and would like to get clarification on one particular item:

QUOTE
Wilfred added that workers earning more than RM4,001 a month should factor in a potential rise in income tax if they took the 3% reduction. “A 3% reduction in EPF essentially means you just got a 3% raise in your salary. So you have to pay more in income tax,” he said.

http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysi...ancial-planners
All this while, I followed the Jumlah Pendapatan amount under my EA form and put to Pendapatan berkanun penggajian. This is inclusive of the 11% EPF deduction.

However, from the above statement, it suggests that I should deduct 11% from my Jumlah Pendapatan and declare it under Pendapatan berkanun penggajian instead.

A simple example is: For total income RM100K, 11% deduction is RM11K. On the BE Form, should the Pendapatan berkanun penggajian be RM100K or RM89K?

Thank you

Only for PCB calculation is based on net salary.

For BE should always be gross salary and the 11% you contributed will count towards as your relief.

Okay thanks. So I have been doing it correctly. Just a but confuse with the statements in the article.

Annual membership fee for professional status that is required to maintain your employment such ACCA or IEEE can be deducted directly from your gross income. Meaning the number you key in is after deduction.
*
Is this written anywhere at the Nota BE? Can't seems to find it. So the key here is 'to maintain employment'. What kind of evidence need to submit to LHDN if asked for proof? For academic field, the professional status is not required to maintain employment but adds up to the expertise, is this considered? Thank you

Yes. The keyword is to maintain employment.

You need that membership for your role/job/position. For instance, you need to be a certain member rank/level in IEEE or IEM in order to be a PE and only if you're a PE or senior PE, you can approve the drawings.

I believe the receipt of the membership fee payment should be sufficient.

If you're being audited, the officer will inquire why the amount in the gross income doesn't tally with your EA form/statement.
*
Okay thank you. Would the difference in gross income and EA form lead to higher possibility of being flagged for audit?
