I went to LHDN to submit my Pemberitahuan Pemberhentian Kerja form, (leaving my current company). When I was finally attended to, the officer informed me that I had 2 years of undeclared income for 2009 & 2010.
2009 I was running my own sole prop business, where the revenue was so low that I didn't bother/forgot to submit, but all documentation and bank statements, invoices complete. Just need to submit the Borang B.
2010 I was making the transition from self-employed back into employment, so left the business to my partner to handle. In the end, the business failed and company closed down, losing everything along with all documents, bank statements, invoices, receipts. In hindsight I should've went back to the company to collect all the files before the business closed. I was under my own company payroll but kept all payslips in the office and were eventually lost.
From 2011 to present day, I've been submitting Borang BE and doing proper filing. But what can I do about tax submission for year 2010? Haven't got audited yet (touch wood) but was thinking of settling it before they come knocking...
