Fast fast submit.

I submitted 2 weeks back and just got refund from LHDN.  rclxm9.gif

Lost my job in March. So, after deduction, I got back 100% of paid tax in 2016.  rclxms.gif

How does this work?

Hi there. A question. I claimed the tax for my housing loan (signed in 2009-10). However, I've lost the SNP. If LHDN ask for an evidence, do i need to submit the whole SNP doc or they should already have the record? Otherwise, i need to go to the bank, which will be troublesome..

If you are audited, of course you need to show them your original copy. Better to ask for a copy from your lawyers or bank for your own records even if LHDN dont audit you.

A friend asked me this recently :-

Brother claimed medical for father via receipts. Brother didnt claim parent relief of Rm1,500 per parent. Brother already submitted tax return.
Sister didnt claim any medical via receipts. Sister now wants to claim relief of Rm1,500 per parent. Sister belum submit tax return.

Can sister claim now for parent relief of Rm1,500 per parent?

Hi sifu, need advice.
A friend has no income in Malaysia, however he received a letter from IRB "dimaklumkan tuan telah didaftarkan nombor cukai pendapatan XXXXXXXXX."

Please advice if he:
1) just ignore as zero income/the total just not up to taxable income level, hence is not required to submit tax filing
2) must file and continue to file every subsequent year until end of your life
Thank you.

Must file even if zero income.

Need some clarifications

Husband working (senior level). Wife not working.

Husband declare as wife tiada punca pendapatan right?

Husband deposits money into wife's name for FD, Amanah Saham(ASM/ASW, bank account.

Since wife has interest generated from those money, can husband still claim the * wife tiada punca pendapatan?

Is it wife considered got income?
*
Bank deposit interests are not taxable.

One of my friend had IT job and he  gain income from mining bitcoin. Do he need to file the income he get from mining bitcoin ?
*
If its substantial and he uses it for some purpose (say buy car or property in cash, etc) it will indeed attract some attention from IRB. In other words, IF IRB comes to enquire, you will need show proof of that income/cash and then be taxable if not declared earlier.

Hello.
I am not sure if anyone encountered the same in the past, I have tried my best to look up for old post but nothing turns up. Here is my query:
1. Received letter from LHDN, "akaun tuan selepas tahun taksiran 2016 tidak menunjukkan apa-apa baki kredit yang boleh dibayar balik.
Do I need to do anything about it?
Tried to called the LHDN branch that handle my account, they put me on hold for more than 15mins every time, so fed up calling.

2. "Sila kembalikan borang BE/B bagi tahun 2012 ke pusat pemprosesan Bangi untuk dikemaskini."
This means I have to submit e-BE for the year of 2012? Or I have to contact someone in the Bangi branch?
I wonder if any penalty will incur since I only kena tax deduction in year 2013, and did submitted e-BE for all subsequent year.

3. Do I still have to do e-BE for all subsequent year although I have no income since middle of 2016 (enrolled for 4-year full time bachelor degree program)
*
I will suggest you submit the BE/B for 2012 to Bangi (either registered post or walk in) and then while you are there, clarify point no. 1.
Secondly, yes you need to do e-BE for all subsequent year even though you have no income. You need to key in zero in all those columns and submit without fail every year.

Hope this helps.

if A is retired person and in the past 5 years has no any source of income except this rental
and the rental is less than 20k per year
so he does not need to pay income tax as well
btw, he did not declare income tax anymore since retired
then what should C do?
*
why A so scared of receiving rental income directly if the sum is so low?

Yes, if the person has no file before.

But if the person filed before, even the particular year income below the taxable threshold, one still needs to continue to file each year.

Anyone has any idea until when shd we stop filing after we retire? Just curious.

Any moment you wish to stop by writing in officially to LHDN with your reason.
Retire - makan kasi pagi and petang with EPF savings & etc.
