FYI the new installer looks and runs better than the old installer - the old ones look so slow and bloated when compared to this installer... One thing I don't like is there are ads (though it's AMD related) in the software, but you can always disable them if you want to. However I would like AMD to make ads as an opt-in option, not opt-out. This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Nov 25 2015, 08:17 AM

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Mar 2 2016, 12:48 AM) PSA: Gear Of Wars Ultimate Edition is currently broken, do not get them untill M$ fix it. Probably will surpass Arkham Knight in term of launch day broken-ness. 2 months away from release date and it still in Alpha? Most likely due to the limitations of UWP - I wish Microsoft could have allowed traditional Win32 apps on their Windows Store... UWP sounds great in theory - but the biggest problem is they are trying too hard to unify all devices (it's not a very nice idea to have phone-like restrictions on a PC, for example)

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ May 7 2016, 10:17 AM) ^ Cool, because majority of gamers use that processor. Most likely to eliminate the CPU bottleneck to the smallest degree.. Anyway, anyone excited for GTX1080? In before someone make a joke as GTX1080p

QUOTE(skylinelover @ May 7 2016, 10:59 AM) AMD where your counter punch I highly doubt they will take on the high end ones - AMD's Polaris is confirmed to be a mainstream chip (i.e. their aim is to bring VR and 4K gaming to the masses). That's actually a pretty good strategy since the biggest market lies in the mid-range part. So they are going to target that market first. Not all gamers have the cash to spend on a $500+ graphics card. This post has been edited by chocobo7779: May 7 2016, 11:04 AM

QUOTE(sai86 @ May 7 2016, 11:04 AM) As usual, wait for official review. we know nothing is quite true until benchmark is being released <- poorfag talking on the other hand, Battlefield 1 is the real HYPE!!! Yup - I'm kinda stoked for this as well, but considering this is from EA...

QUOTE(sai86 @ May 7 2016, 06:57 PM) by the date you make this post, yeah, its damn bad timing so, when is the announcement date for AMD? Computex June? Computex 2016 will be held on May 30th to June 3rd. Coincidentally, at that time nVidia will release the GTX1080 - but I wonder whether this is a paper launch... Hopefully it is not a paper launch.

Well AMD is going to release their Polaris GPU in a few weeks in Macau: http://wccftech.com/amd-polaris-10-polaris-11-launch-event/I'm kinda interested on the notebook GPU - could be pretty interesting since nVidia has a huge market share on high end mobile GPUs...

QUOTE(Najmods @ May 10 2016, 05:46 PM) Nvidia and AMD arch is two vastly different GPU, the reason why nvidia could pull 'magic' with power consumption on 28nm with Maxwell is because they gimped on several stuff like for example the hardware asynchronous unit for starters, and not forget about FP64. New process nodes will always give better power consumption for the same transistor count and arch. AMD current Achilles Heel is weak texture filtering and tessellation as compared to nvidia counterparts but Tonga and Fiji steps on the right direction but it still isn't enough for me to upgrade my Hawaii card. AMD promised new front end with Polaris which I really hope will overcome these shortcomings, with new process nodes they could experiment more with it but I won't be a test subject. I'd wait for Vega if I ever want to upgrade. We'll see. The only thing I worry about is there isn't any interesting games to play with this cards. New games that focused on multiplayer and always online requirement makes me puke Ah... Tessellation performance - I recalled this is pretty much the biggest weakness of the ATI HD5800 series. Still remembered how GTX470/480 literally demolished the HD5800s when it comes to tessellation - but at that time I don't think there are games that actually utilizes that much tessellation.

Less than 50W TDP for the smaller Polaris chip http://www.techpowerup.com/222450/more-pol...ations-revealedSomeone please make one with a single slot/low profile design - this will be excellent in slim machines/HTPCs This post has been edited by chocobo7779: May 13 2016, 08:32 PM
