Based on what i read, Polaris 10 is going to be R9 480 and Polaris 11 is going to be R7 470.
Are they ditching R9 490? |

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ May 11 2016, 01:21 PM) QUOTE Vega10" is lined up to replace the 390/490 series. Vega11 will replace the FIJI Fury parts. Rumors right now indicate that Vega10 has 4096 stream processors and could compete with the GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. Vega11 would feature 6144 stream processors and would be lined against the GP100 big pascal GPU (think Titan). quote from Guru3d Why is Polaris10 bigger than Polaris11 but Vega10 is smaller tan Vega11? also i believe that Vega11 will b dual gpu Vega10 This post has been edited by area61: May 11 2016, 09:31 PM |

I can finally feel good I sold my R9 290 for the starting price of Polaris.
Although not much difference in performance, RX 480 should sell like hot cakes as its more than capable to handle 1080p which is the most common resolution. Noticed that the actual PCB is shorter than the cooler. Another Nano like GPU maybe? |

QUOTE(Gregyong @ Jun 1 2016, 11:16 AM) HD4k era inkambing , bro...... Well on the plus side, its a 6-pin connector, not 8 pin like the 1070's. My take is that the Radeons will cap at 150W but the GeForces will sip a minimum of 150W.I just feel that the 150watt TDP is a bit disappointing since that's within the range of 1070's TDP as well. should have been lower Also I have a sneaking suspicion that most of the AIBs for nVidia will sell Pascal with 8+6pin as it looks like the GeForces seem to throttle a lot and not able to sustain its boost clocks for long gaming sessions. This means that the AIB GeForces wont be sitting at 150~180W as the Founder Edition cards. Polaris on the other hand, I believe wont throttle as much. |
