Woohoo! Last month I bought a faulty Powercolor R9 280X TurboDuo for RM300
Mind you it's still under warranty until 2018 so I sent it for RMA directly with the distributor

Today the distributor called me & inform they have replaced the card with a new unit
Will open a topic tomorrow once I have collected the card from their office

Hoping I could fetch at least RM650 since it still under warranty & comes with full package
PowerColor takes a very long time to RMA their card, 33 days to be exact

ASUS on the other hand only took 5 days to replace my previously dead R9 280X DirectCU II TOP thumbsup.gif

Why not the 980? brows.gif
Nah, nVidia cards are overpriced for no reason

Asus took 6 months 23 days to replaced my friend's ROG G55 laptop.
Yeah, I've heard that
ASUS is really slow when RMA'ing their laptops, but I've had really short RMA period whenever I RMA their graphic cards & routers
I'm not saying this as a definite, but for ASUS laptop, they might come from a different distributor. Maybe

This is my experience with ASUS:
R9 290 DirectCU II OC - 7 days = They upgrade it to the R9 390 Strix which I'm using right now. With sealed box
R9 280X DirectCU II TOP - 5 days = They replace with a new unit. No box though
RT-AC68U Wireless Router - 12 days = They replace with a new unit. With sealed box

how much did they charge you for the RMA cost? Was it Acheiva?
No charge. As long as the card still have manufacturer warranty, you won't be charged

Just collected the card from Achieva this morning. Will be testing the card once I'm back at home
If the card is functioning perfectly, will open a topic to sell it thumbsup.gif

Something is wrong with my PowerColor R9 390X Devil
NFS Most Wanted 2015 keep on crashing within 1 ~ 5 minutes after starting the game

But when I switch it with ASUS R9 390 Strix, I can play for more than 2 hours

Kinda pissed off ranting.gif
The HYBRID logo on the side of the PowerColor R9 390X Devil also keeps blinking

There's absolutely no issue with the power delivery as I'm using Corsair RM850i Gold

Did you Uninstall + DDU or simply plug the card in and play?
Ran DDU & choose option Uninstall & Shutdown before installing the new card
Re-installing the game doesn't help (original from Origin, not pirated)

Used both 16.3.1 & 16.3 still the same

I highly doubt it's a driver issue nor the game itself
As when I change back to my ASUS R9 390 Strix, the game runs fine

Bora2Island do you have any issues with your card?
Does the HYBRID logo blinks on your card?

Then probably hardware related.  Is it available for 1 to 1 exchange?
I don't know
I just messaged PowerColor Malaysia on Facebook, he read the message, but no respond sweat.gif

The strange thing is, only NFS Most Wanted crashses
Played Just Cause 3 & Rise of Tomb Raider for an hour each, no issues whatsoever rclxub.gif

I'm gonna try a few more games, but switching graphic cards is a PITA doh.gif

You didn't ask Lingloong?
Nah, I prefer dealing directly with the manufacturer / distributor in regards to faulty hardware(s)
QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Mar 24 2016, 09:59 PM)
NFS is a little weird, sometime i get glitchy blue/purple screen while playing.
I highly doubt it's the game issue

I have 3 cards in my hand right now
1. PowerColor TurboDuo R9 280X
2. ASUS R9 390 Strix
3. PowerColor Devil R9 390X

Both 280X & 390 runs NFS Most Wanted just fine but when I install the 390X, the game keeps on crashing doh.gif
It's not a BSOD issue, the game just crashes

Try set power limit to the max & increase voltage a little bit.
Really appreciate your advise but I'm not the type who fiddles with clockspeed or voltage
The card is supposed to work out of the box just like the PowerColor TurboDuo R9 280x & ASUS R9 390 STRIX without the end user needs to adjust something else to make it work

It is for troubleshooting. Then try only power limit set to max. It doesn't fiddles the clockspeed nor voltage.
Alright.
But can you explain further what you meant by "set power limit to max"?

Old man here blush.gif

This kind of problem makes me think about selling all my cards & upgrade to Fury X
But what's the real world improvement of Fury X over R9 390X?
Does the HBM really make a huge difference?

Also, wouldn't the downgrade from 8GB to 4GB reduce the game quality?
I'm only using 1 screen though, at Full HD, not 2K or 4K

And as I've explained earlier, I'm an old man, so please understand that I really need some guidance before making the switch to Fury X
Not really old la, just 32 hahahahaha laugh.gif

Fury-X bottleneck is pretty terrible at 1080p. Not worth it.
Eh? Isn't Fury X supposed to be more powerful than 390X?
I just changed the Power Settings in Control Panel to High Performance, suddenly the game runs for the last 45 minutes, manage to finish 7 races

Strange how this issue doesn't happen at all on my 280X & 390
I didn't have to change any Power Settings while I was using 280X & 390

Weird sweat.gif

Still confused about what's causing the crash previously

My Power Settings in Control Panel is still on High Performance though hmm.gif

Hey guys, any card which has length less than 6"? Recently just change my pc to mitx with node 304 casing, in order to cramp all 6 hardrive(max 6) into it i need shortest possible card. biggrin.gif

Surveying around, found out sapphire r7 250 might fit but very rare nowadays..

and i dont need high end gpu.
Was about to suggest R9 Fury X or R9 Nano then I see you said no high end cards laugh.gif
R7 250 is still available for sale, look in lelong lor
But you have to google their specification to check the length of the cards

lingloong do you have any cards that can fit AmeiN's spec?

No more crazy overclocking on cheap PSU/mobo/RAM and stock HSF sad.gif
I remember back when I overclock my Pentium 4 3.0E (Socket 478) to 3.6GHz using Cooler Master Hyper 6+
I tried so hard to find another 100MM (10CM) fan so I could do a push & pull method on the heatsink but couldn't find it anywhere laugh.gif

Hey bro, if you're still looking for a short graphic card, I found one
A high-end card that won't make a huge hole in your pocket but still able to fit into your system
The actual length is 6.7 inches (170MM) & the price is RM8** in lelong thumbsup.gif
