i managed to update using software updater.. mayb u shld go to nokia..

anyhow i'm new here n i jz got my black N80 finally !!!
i'm very amazed by the phone esp its screen resolution, but the bat life is really abit too short.

i recently noticed a scratch on the front of the phone near to the lower corner of the LCD screen, i dunno how it got there but the bottom line is i MUST fix it!

i'm thinking of using airbrushing only that particular part... but does any1 out there has other better alternative i can try ?

hi guys... jz wondering, what is the correct way of disconnecting the pop-port?
cos recently my stereo head set bcame abit loose... and u need to adjust it to sometimes hear both the head phones....

hi, does any1 has problem with the vibrating alert? i realised that the n80 sometimes doesn;t vibrate to incoming calls or msg n i hv to restart the fon to make it work. thx !

hi guys, i had read and heard of N80 hard casings that leave scratch marks on the fon after sometime as the inner part of the casing has hinges that can damage the phone's housing. can any1 share wif me where to get Good quality hard casings that doesnt leave marks? tq

it happened to me b4. apart from pics not showing up, the mp3 files which are in the miniSD also doesnt shw up. after happening the 2nd time, i found out that the problem occurs after using the fon in "Data transfer" mode.

to fix the prob, plug ur fon again with data transfer mode to the PC then after doing safely remove on ur PC, the fon shld show up some message stating its safe to remove the data cable. Now, b4 u remove the data cable MAKE SURE YOU PRESS 'OK' 1st on the fon then ONLY U REMOVE THE DATA CABLE. If u remove the cable without pressing the pressing 'OK' on fon, the missing data problem will occur.

another method is to backup ur miniSD 1st and reformat the miniSD. this shld work fine.

hi, i notice some weird connection problem when in DUAL MODE.

tis morning, with dual mode on i notice there is 3G connection at my office(Subang jaya uptown) but i later switched to GSM mode and then back again to DUAL mode, this time the 3G connection is not there anymore. Nw i'm still in my office with dual mode on but NO 3G. does any1 experience this prob b4?

and sometimes, my N80 doesnt detect 3G but my fren W850i detects it. hm....

any comment ? thx alotz !

I had recently upgraded to de n80i firmware. Things seems to be workin more smoothly. But i hv problem connecting to gizmo voip via wlan. Has any1 managed to connect to it? Tx n best regards!

4. the sms lag is due to a bug in the old firmware. The new firmware will correct this problem perfectly. i;m using my N80 for 4 months already with new firmware vur did not experience any lag in sms.

actually it is not advisable to upgrade to the V4.07 at the moment
you shld check this link out :
N80 firmware update thread
according to the thread, there had been numerous complaints on v4.07
so its better to wait for a newer release.

as for the key lock... i'm not sure whether u can turn this feature off..
but N80 doesnt comes with auto keylock.. u need to download an app for it.

yeah it will 'popup' abit if compared to other phones.. but hey, you wont feel it, jz that it will show up.. i've been wearing jeans all the while and i carry my N80 in it, it just feel 'natural'.

Hi, jz wandering have u guys ever had problem with DIGI sim cards? cos my N80 will freeze up sometimes after i had ended a call using DIGI cards. (I am making the call) hope to hear some feedbacks, thx !

Nokia N80 disassembly

Tools required: T6 screwdriver & pair of non magnetic tweezers or a plastic shim such as a guitar plectrum

* Remove the battery & sim card. Undo the torx screws shown in the image below


* Using the handle end of the tweezers, insert them into the grooves, shown by the arrows below.


* Lever the tweezers out to undo the tabs at the top and middle and your phone will be like below. Slide the top cover down towards the keypad to remove it.


* The top cover and keypad have now been removed (below).


* Next remove the soft key board by removing the screws indicated below.


* Now remove the LCD screen by disconnecting the ribbon cable, which the arrow shows below. Gently lift this part until it unplugs from the main board


* Using the tweezers, pop out the screen by levering it with the tweezers in the area indicated by the arrows in the picture below.


* Your phone should now be as pictured below.


* Replace the old LCD with new Reverse the procedure for disassembly and it's finished.
