Just want to add here, all of the N80 owners will be able to update their phone firmware online through the new Nokia Software Updater software themselves, without having to send their phone to svc center, But there is an unconfirm information that it is only applicable for the firmware version 4 and above. So, I guess I have to update my phone firmware to v4.0 first which is currently only available for EMEA version, and not for APAC version.

However, I did able to update my backup phone, N70 firmware through this method..

help me again pls blush.gif ... my pdf file won't open, says something like operation failed, not enough memory, thats strange cos my memory card has like 100 MB of free space and my pdf file is only 3 MB, anyone knows why? notworthy.gif  rclxms.gif

Glad to hear that U have received it, FTI, pls ensure that your phone memory is adequate instead of your memory card and pdf file size. My advise is for u to reset the call log time to 1 day only, and please ensure that other apps is not open at the same time too.

Thanks

Hmmm..as stated in this thread..I wonder why most of us still relying on nokia svc ctr for software upgrading, as we can do it ourselves with Nokia Software Updater..it works for me upgrading from v3 to 4....

hey guyz is it worth it to get a n80 now?cuz i really like that phone but then its kinda old already and im afraid i'll regret getting the n80 later..especially when n95 releases here laugh.gif
*
I guess the price difference for n80 and n95 will be around Rm1k-Rm1.5k, and as a new phone, normally it will takes sometimes for n95 firmware to be tuned to perfection. As for N80, it is working without any problem now, if compared when it was launched about a year ago. My advise, if u have the patience and money, and for latest buzz, go for N95 which will be available in 1-2 months from now.
This is just my opinion....

I am afraid I can't agree with you on this, especially on the "n73 beats everything of n80" statement. N73 is not that superior than N80 and the advantage N80 has over N73 is not only its WIFI. It's all down to what an individual wants on their phone and I think it is unfair to draw the line here and saying N73 is a better phone than N80. For one, N80 has a clearer display than N73. I saw the N73 screen before and all the graphic pixalize really is not pleasant to the eyes. Well, u might argue that u don't mind the pixalized graphic and I also can tell u that I don't really mind the average camera quality. End of the day, it is up to the individual and from my point of view, N80 beats everything of N73  flex.gif

Points well-explained rclxms.gif

let me add about the wifi capability..it is totally awesome with no problem at all since the first day it was launched, in fast i always use my hp for internet messaging when im not using my pc on wifi connection with my wireless router at home....

By the way, if i want a pic to be framed, i always use my digital camera, thats why i dont bother at all with n80 pic quality, but i can assure to all of potential users of n80 that the pic quality of this phone is good enuff to be shown to others...

Bro, that wifi is not build for the purpose of surfing net at home ler... That is for those who are doin business and etc whom needs internet vry much. For them, N80 can enlightened them without bringing their laptops running here and there. For them who want to use it for home usage its not a prob also.

OH ya... 1 more thing, pls use the quote button.... Dont spam...

Points well explained again rclxms.gif Let me clarify further, I do own both PC and notebook which can be connected with the wifi router at home, but pls dont tell me that I have to use my notebook for the whole day after spending most of my time with those two items in the office, and I cant imagine carrying the notebook around to the living hall and dining hall in the ground floor, and to study room and bedroom in the 1st floor, just for the Internet Messaging,,,, what the heck..maybe it suit u...edkiasu doh.gif
On the other hand, if u dont own the notebook, trying carrying around your PC icon_rolleyes.gif

That was a general statement, and has no intention pointing it to u...apologise if that sounds offensive to u.. icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(Survivor @ Jan 10 2007, 11:28 PM)
I think what he meant is that N80 is an alternative to connect to wireless network besides laptop and PC. When u don't feel like using the laptop or PC to go internet, or when both the laptop and PC is not available to u, u can still go online with the N80.
*
Rite on the mark..that what I meant...especially on taking advantage of the home wifi connection that doesnt requires any 3g or gprs connection.. notworthy.gif

I want to ask you guys if there's like a higher capacity battery for N80. My original battery that came with the phone can only watch around 2 hours of video on full charge. If yes, how much will it cost and where can I get it? Preferably around Subang or Damansara area.
*
I dunno about others..but havent found any original made for high capacity battery..why don u buy an extra battery..for a back up..can always use it when your battery level is low...

Thnx

Got a noob Question to ask. After plugging in the N80 to my PC using USB, how do I safely unplug it? Cant find the function to safely remove the phone.
*
Fist time..usingit, i also wondering for the same issue as no option for remove the hardware as like other external usb device...so i just unplug the dku2 cable from my n70..so far...its working ok...i guess thats the rite way..n the only way...
