Hi,more details pls refer to here PTT FAQ
Just join this forum, have not read through all N80 posting. I like to share with everyone, I have been using this phone for >1.5 yrs. Bought it in SG around May 2005/2006 (forgot the year)
Firmware:
Started with version 3.xx, I have manually upgraded using Phoenix two times. The first time to v3.xx also, and second time to v4.07xx last year. This involved a lot of manual step-by-step, which must be done accurately. A bit risky for those who is trying first time. Also "upgraded" my N80 firmware to N80 IE, whatever it means.
Third time upgrade using Nokia Software Updater. Did it couple of months back, now is running
v 5.0719.0.2
24-05-2007
RM-92
Nokia N80 (11)
This is a more straight-forward step. The best advise is... DO NOT TOUCH the phone, USB cable, PC/Notebook while it is flashing. Stay 3 feet away, and keep anyone/baby/child/pets away from it as well.
Data Connection
I'm using Marxis 012 with unlimited GPRS package, i.e. 3G in Klang valley. Speed is stable and fast in certain areas like KLCC, Mont Kiara. Others are erratic. Sometimes can achieve constant 45-54kbps while downloading huge files, but most of the time, around 18-42kbps only.
I'm planning to try out HSDPA, and I'm looking out for E51 and 6120 Classic now. Anyone knows when E51 will be launched here ?
Software App
N80 is on S60 v3. I have used themes from P@SCO which works quite well. Also installed MSN Messenger (from Nokia HK website - FREE) and FExplorer. Also tried using Google Map, through both WiFi and 3G connection. All of the S60v3 software works without problem for me.
