Diligent sloth,

May I ask how you get those incredible dl speed where the top most speed I have is only around 10kbs. I have done port forwarding and all those nonsense but still this slow speed. Hopefully you can share a little of your kung fu with us. Thanks.

Its a trunked connection, I'm using more than 1 connection to dl my stuff

juz wondering tmnet having new protocol , when there is too much incoming and outgoing connection it will force you to d/c and reconnecting ?

glad you noticed.

its been in effect for quite some time, since they start throttling everybody in fact.

the disconnection you (well everybody actually) experience is not actually an actual disconnection from streamyx's DSLAM per se. what happens is you lose incoming and outgoing traffic for a while, but your IP still stays the same. After a while your download may recover but with a maximum of 10 kbps only tongue.gif But your upload may 100% recover or limp along just like your downloads. its easy to tell this by using apps like netmeter or freemeter in windows.

solution ? reduce limit on incoming & outgoing connection on whatever app you are using. make sure the incoming connections are within 2 digits, i.e. less than 100. The same goes for outgoing connections too.

but this so-called "solution" limits the possibilities of peers that can offer you data, thus slowing your downloads. but at least your connection stabilize, though no guarantees as streamyx does successfully thwart this method too. ohmy.gif their shaping policy is very effective i must say.

in other words, there's no solution really. although disgruntled users can always migrate elsewhere biggrin.gif biggrin.gif hey, just kidding laugh.gif

oh really thanks god, u all noticed about it too. This happen to me as well.
I'm using Bitcomet 0.86, 1 torrent at a time, speed around 40-50kb/s, upload 28kb/s.
I ping to DNS 202.188.0.133, it appears request timeout, this is sad things. torrent speed run slow due to force disconnect incoming & outgoing connections. The seed peers start over again from 10kb/s, then boost up slowly, then restart respectively.

Not only BT that i noticed, sometimes when HTTP download also face the problem(ping timeout). Now is interfere the stability of connection. Cannot msn transfer when bt-ing. its really a 'good' shaping tech.

My usual IP is 60.53.x.x
