hardware driver all new & the game works fine in multi & single player

but dunno why the com have problm with co-op mode

old spec:

pentium 4 2ghz (s 478)
512 mb ram
geforce fx 5900xt

play 2142 with the lowest possible settings but still work a treat xcept for the co-op mode

kinda waiting for dx10 cards to step into the market to upgrade the pc

new BF2142 patch just come out v1.05. Give it a try see if it solve the problem.

This is ridiculous.

I have been trying to connect to EA Master Server for AGES and I keep getting the "Server Timed Out" Error. What's the problem here?

My internet connection is working fine and I'm all patched up till 1.06.

I can login just fine @1.50pm, maybe EA doing some login server maintenance that time?

i need help. when i patch, it sez Patching Failed.

i reinstalled and use the patch, still Failed.

what else can i do?

EDITED : found out it's a disk space issue. needs 1.3GB++ to patch successfully.

Try this:

1.Go to start
2.Click Run
3.Type C:\Program Files\Common Files
4.Find the "InstallShield" folder
5.Rename the folder to "InstallShieldOld"
6.Try patch again

i think you didn't see my EDITED part - did you?

this means it was solved, just by freeing some disk space for the patch to expand.

err... may i ask? it might be a dumb question but i want to ask to satisfy my feeling... what is the lowest requirement to play this game? i'm using 2.4 p4 with 512ddr and radeon 9600pro 256 but even with the lowest setting, it lag like hell..like 2 or 1 fps...have anyone encountered this before?

dunno about BF2142...but i used to use slightly lower specs for BF2 which uses the same engine...
amd2.4, 512mb, 9600 128mb...it was fully playable at low settings...

got similiar specs like yours but i got more ram stick to 16 players map for optimal play, 32 gonna be lag abit as long there's no heavy action going on around you. 64 players & titan map if you enjoy watching slide show

do any of you know how to run BF2142 withought the DVD for the new patch, its really anoying that I have to install DVD-rom when ever I play this game.

1. Install Alcohol 100%
2. Put the DVD in the DVD drive.
3. With Alcohol%, burn the whole DVD and save it in your hard drive (BF2142 DVD.mdf)
4. Install Daemon Tools.
5. Disable the DVD drive (Control Panel/System/)
6. Umount BF2142 DVD.mdf with Daemon.
