Grats on new version..

anyway i have question here,

I want to book hotel room for family vacation (penang)
how to use the AMEX to get the cash back?
should i purchase it on weekend too?

and for the below;

Rule of thumb:
PAYPAL + Amex + RM = no go
PAYPAL + Amex + foreign currency = good to go
PAYPAL + Visa/Master + RM/foreign currency = good to go

I dont understand the above rule of thumb,
lets say i wanna book a hardrock hotel penang, should i go through hardrock hotel penang web to purchase the room or agoda?
i mean to get the cash back.
*
It doesn't matter whether you book thru agoda or hotel website as long as it is made on a weekend. However, do note that agoda is having a promotion so compare the final price.

Thanks for your reply,
the 5% seems not legit ( im using Maybank 2 Gold Card )
*
It is legit. You need to key in your cc number (but not submit) before the 5% is reflected.

Hi,

Just want to ask the following questions :
1. If got fraud and we block the card, do we need to pay for that fraud charge?
2. If block, Maybank will issue you a new card?
3. To get cash back for petrol, can it be done at the counter?
*
1. Depends on the bank's investigation and the evidence.
2. Yes
3. Counter/pump.

So one still need to pay for the fraud charges first then only later the bank will refund. If is really a fraud, but the bank said not a fraud, how to complain?
*
i have never reach till that stage. my fraud case was reverted before the payment due date.

Credit card newbie here. Just one question (I've searched but can't find the answer).

Is it worth it to use the credit card for merchants that charge 2% service fee on weekends? Since we get 5% cashback, simplest calculation would mean we can get 3% cashback (5% minus 2% service fee), which is still a plus rather than using cash to pay.

Is that calculation correct? I just want to know if it's better to pay by cash or credit card for merchants that charge 2% fee
*
can you name which merchant is that, charging 2% fee on weekends?

I use my new platinum Amex card at shell last night and pump rm42++ petrol. This is my first swipe. Then, I receive a Sms below :

RM0.00 MBB:TQ for using your Maybankard ending 8164 for MYR250.00 AT SHELL - JLN IPOH BT 17\BA PO;20/06/15;19:44.For enq call num at back of your card

Then I quickly call CS. They said it's normal coz they capped the max. limit between 200 to 250. Bank will reverse back the amount few days. Does anyone get this kind of Sms b4?

When I use the gold card to pump petrol, I don't  get this kind of Sms. Really make me sweat...
*
Yes, that is normal. Probably your gold card is not set or set at a higher amount for sms alert.

Also, it is normal for the bank to send notification sms for the first swipe of a new card. If you have not set your sms alert, I'd suggest you to set it up and set your trigger amount. It is handy.

they cut the benefits for PPL visits - for VS, VI

Here's my plan. Will use up all RM50 quota for July to accumulate the lowest TP to redeem voucher. Then put in cold storage and apply Ikhwan as consolation. Cant cut as having 3 years ezypay with them doh.gif

They already expect to face backlash. They even put the remark Kindly take note that Maybank reserves the right to revise the Maybank 2 Card Benefit as and when it deems necessary, with 21 days prior notice." tongue.gif
