umobile more worst need to confirm port out within 1 hour
*
really? at least it is not unpredictable like maxis.

i remember for porting out from umobile, the sms came shortly after walking out the telco centre, and i was given 6 to 8 hours to respond.

if submission is made in the afternoon, the deadline would fall during the night, so another 10 to 12 hours will be added so that the deadline will be the following day's morning or midday.

most telcos work this way i.e. digi, umobile, tunetalk. prompt and predictable.

i was around sg wang during lunch today. not happy with maxis, i paid a visit to umobile at times sq to port out another hotlink. till now still no sms. let's see if the sms come after midnight or after one week.

the process of porting out from hotlink (maybe maxis postpaid too) is now somewhat automated.

let say the time of submission is t.

at t+5hours, maxis will send you a confirmation sms requiring you to respond within 6 hours, so the deadline is t+11h. the new sms shortcode number is 20025. previously, it was 23400.

unlike other telcos, maxis doesnt compensate for night time. so be careful when you submit the mnp at the new telco. if you submit in the evening, the confirmation sms will come in the middle of the night and you might miss it.

10 hours after the deadline, ie at t+21hours, maxis will process the mnp request and inform you by sms that they are processing your request. if you have responded to the sms and there is no other issue, your line will be cut off immediately.

anyone knows (or confirms) that port out from hotlink nowadays doesnt require sms confirmation?

took up the digi's online mnp offer. received the sim card yesterday. at noon today, i reactivated my hotlink number by topping up. at 7.30pm, i was surprised to receive a welcome email from digi. when i checked my hotlink line, to my horror, it was disconnected and there was a sms from hotlink thanking me for being with them. thank goodness i transferred out the balance of rm40+ at 5pm!

Do you think it safe to do mnp today? Just afraid if do today, suddenly have to wait for 5 working days....which mean, after raya  and no line to use sweat.gif
*
even wait 5 days doesnt mean no line to use. if your tunetalk is still active, you use tunetalk until cutover is completed. anyway, you have to keep your existing prepaid number active in order to mnp.

last time I do mnp from celcom to tunetalk... my old celcom line was deactivated very fast... but later there was problem porting to tunetalk.. took about 4 days to settle.. and at that time I have no other line.. Just my luck... my big boss tried contacting me in those 4 days... he asked me whether I changed number sweat.gif

if it's your (bad) luck, does it matter before raya or after raya?

Submitted mnp application. Eventually the application rejected by maxis. The reason given by maxis is the number I request for mnp is not in service.

I already resubmit mnp application today.
*
number not in service? doesn't sound like contract issue to me. maxis used to be very buggy when porting out. not sure if intentional or not.

how did it go the second attempt?

This Maxshit played me too. One day before my prepaid line became inactive, I applied to port out from Maxshit to OneXOX. The next day (while still active), they SMS me to confirm port out and I replied 'YES' . Few hours after that I tested the line  by calling out, still active. So 7 hrs later the Hotlink red app still showed active.

So I checked with XoX what's happening, only then I found out that damned Maxshit rejected my port out citing line inactive.I called them to complain and they gave the bullshit that my line became inactive before I answered their sms with 'Yes' reply. At that time I even got their reply thanking me for my confirmation . I called them big Liars for pulling that kind of unethical stunt.

Now I had no choice but to top up and resubmit my application again to port out. Now waiting to see if they will do the right thing or try to pull another stunt again.

porting out on the last day of your validity is a gamble. you may have a slightly better chance of porting out if you have your request submitted AND processed first thing in the morning, anything later than that is almost doomed to fail.

based from lessons learned from past failures, now
i usually request port out in the afternoon 2 days before the number become inactive.

their letting you call out after your last day of validity may be a mistake on their part or perhaps a bug, but this doesn't stop them from rejecting you.

now my turn to experience the nightmare from maxis. submitted port out yesterday and replied to their sms, but no news after that.

this evening, i contacted cs, only to find out my request was rejected. i asked why.

first, he said my number wasn't reactivated from ticket reload or online banking. i then showed him my hotlink statement which clearly showed a voucher reload was the latest reload.

then, he said my number entered grace period yesterday, nov 4. but i topped up on oct 31, which is clearly indicated on the statement, so active period is till nov 5. ussd and app are both showing nov 5.

after that, he went silent for a while and then insisted i should top up again. what if i topup and they keep rejecting using lousy excuses?

Have you mention wanna report to mcmc & cfm?
*
yes, told them i will report to mcmc if they reject my request again without a valid reason.

it is shocking to learn that a big corporation can be so low-handed. if they try to block maxis one customers, then i understand. but to prevent a light prepaid user that contributes little to their revenue from leaving, they must be crazy or very desperate.

Hi all, my xox validity will be expired soon. As I only use it for receiving calls purpose. Is there anyway to keep my line active? I heard Unifi mobile no expiry. How do I port to Unifi mobile from XoX ?
*
you can install the unifi app, and order a mnp sim. then follow the instructions to port in.

to keep your number alive, make a call, or send a sms or use some data every 90 days.
