Ok, i own an Intel Mac (Tiger 10.4.4) and i want to dual boot Linux on it. I'm not entirely sure if Boot Camp would work fine as i've received mixed feedback from other users. Some explanation and clarification would be much appreciated. I'm planning to get Ubuntu

QUOTE(Apache32 @ Dec 24 2008, 04:21 AM) nope.. i meant make the os hybrid.. You either dual boot or you can run it in Parallel VM.it's known as safest system in the world.. it was really amazing.. i read it from chip megazine last year.. I recommend dual boot with rEFIt because it's much faster & you can have desktop effects which is not possible in Parallel. I've never heard of a hybrid, but it's possible to install X.org in MacOS X and run most X apps in it, if that's what u r talking about. |

My suggestion is either one of this (if it's your first time venturing into GNU/Linux):1. Ubuntu Linux 2. Linux Mint 3. openSUSE Most of your proprietary hardware drivers and multimedia codecs will work out-of-the-box with the above distros. Same goes with your local network and internet connection. Information of the package contents and screenshots can be found here: http://distrowatch.com/ |

QUOTE(d4n3sh @ Dec 30 2009, 11:17 AM) Deluge by far is the fastest (thus making it the best in my opinion) torrent client I've ever used, and I also like it so far.My only gripe with it is that it causes quite some slowdown on the connection while surfing, but that's not severe enough for me to not call it a trivial matter.
