This is the more legit reviews i have seen so far on ME:Andromeda, elaborates both the good and the bad, unlime most of the reviews out there who are just blasting and nuking.
MEA Kotaku Reviewi haven't click on the link yet.
but here's my take on the SP mode. WALL OF TEXT INCOMING!!!
the same as most of the players, i too heard of comments about how bad the single player mode is.
but yesterday i've manage to convinced myself to really wake myself up from cyrosleep.
i admit i had some struggle at first, i didn't quite like it because i'm finding myself comparing every second of the game with it's trilogy. the game actually make me miss the normandy, the crew of normandy from 2 - 3, and of course commander shepard. the ryders (i didn't mean you
ryder
) didn't have the look or feel of a leader or a hero like shepard. probably that's what they want to do? to give a message that everyone can be a leader/hero. time and time again, i thought in my mind, "this could've been done better".
so that's how i struggle through the first hour of the game.
i grit my teeth and played through it. but slowly, i allow myself to immerse into the game by stopping the comparison or accepting that this is not mass effect commander shepard's story anymore. i slowly start to enjoy the game better amidst the game's UNPOLISHNESS, that i have to strongly agree with everyone else.
however, in regards to the write-up or dialogue, it didn't feel bad or cringy. i mean i've read some game novels written by different author, and i can tell which author has better writing than the other. i've watched enough movies that my body will cringe when i hear awful dialogues. in all honesty, it didn't feel that way. it definitely falls short from the trilogy, but not that far off.
the facial expression didn't feel that derpy actually, but then again, my rig can't handle the high settings of the game, but that really didn't bother me much as i was more focused on the game itself. oh, the voice acting is alright actually.
now that i've addressed the common problems that we heard about the game, let me tell you about the things that the public never really mention.
the exploration. the detail of the planet you are allowed to explore is...off the world

planet exploration in the trilogy series are just a small area. this is...almost open world. i have to say that they did a really good job in detailing the world, which i believe is where they spent most of the time on. (i also understand what
ChocChristy meant by the resource mining being tedious LOL! i would say it's a bit like WoW's mining profession)
i played continuously for practically the whole saturday. that's how addictive it is for me, i just can't stop myself from wanting to find out more.
overall, i can say this is an enjoyable game if you lower your high expectations for a polished game and don't microcope into every problems.
