Don't get the idea since I never encounter this. Is it something like WMV pop-up asking to acquire license ? Then, another pop-up coming out ?

What player do you used ? RealPlayer ? or WMP using Real Alternative codecs ? or other player ?

A lot of RM files nowadays have spyware "embedded" inside, for example, you might suddenly get re-directed to some websites when you're half way playing the video.

Yes, this is the workaround I used, try to force-open with other players. I believe that it is somehow related to the exploits on the official Real player.

From: KL. Best place in Malaysia. Nuff said

The official Real Player IMO is pathetic considering it wanted Microsoft to stop loading WMP with windows tongue.gif..... Too much adware, lame and resource hungry while want to hog the PC to make it the default player for all media files. IMO WMP or/and MPC + Real Alternative is the best choise to play RM files without ever having to see the adware popup.

u can find codecs here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/

then after u install the codecs, just right click on the file (e.g. rm) and make it always open with WMP smile.gif

Actually you can just keep your Real Player there (without having to uninstall it), but instead, use WMP to open it (even though it says format incompatible, open it anyway), as I believe it's your Real Player causing the problem, not the codec itself.
