Going to Osaka soon.

Any advice on data sim card? Is it best to get from Kansai airport vending machine or cheaper elsewhere?

Not sure about the train service if it will be closed at midnight, any idea or alternative options?

You can try SO-NET PREPAID DATA SIM for only 3000yen

You can google it wink.gif

By Law it will be 100% confiscated.
But Malaysia .....you know lah.....Custom sometimes are lazy.....you got 50 - 50 chances.
If custom officer open your package to check content then bye bye .
*
What do you think if I throw away all the packaging and left the item only and pretend it is bought in Malaysia and bring along to Japan? Lol

Hi, I'm going end of Nov too in a group of 8. We will be entering from Kansai, then Tokyo. Does anyone knows if I can buy the Tokyo metro 3-day pass (1,500yen) before arriving Tokyo?

Online sources mentioned there are travel agencies who sell them only if buying with travel packages. Anyone knows if I can buy from JR West office? TQ

Once you arrived Tokyo just head to BIC CAMERA (many places also have), they have metro pass and SIM Card for tourists

Hi sifus

I booked my tickets to Tokyo narita airport for Oct but I just received email from airasia saying flights to narita will be discontinued and now have the option of arriving at haneda. However the arrival time at tokyo is at 10.30pm. Will this be too tight to catch the train to shinjuku area since the last train stops at 12am?

Alternatively what are the other cheapest options to get to shinjuku area from haneda airport at such late hours?
*
Check the Tokyo Monorail to Tokyo last train schedule, if you are able to make it on the last train then OK one.

I tried to claim back tax refund at Haneda airport somehow it failed as the immigration officer removed my purchase receipt clipped with the passport. Also I couldn't find any tax refund counter at departure hall. Anyone having the same problem too?

huh...i thought when you purchase something at a shop, the tax refund is done immediately at that shop....

The shop staff did ask me to go to airport to claim, that's the last message I was told.

This mean you guys no do homework enough.
I already posted it at Page1.
How to redeem tax

I claimed back several times at different countries and it was simple and easy, I didn't expect Haneda was like that, its not about doing homework or not.

There are no tax refund counters. Purchases at duty free prices can be made at the duty free stores.

Please show your record of purchase along with your passport at the Customs counter when departing. MAP
(The record of purchase will be collected at Customs.)
