On a separate forum, Hacker News, users reported that TM was leaking routes onto the rest of the Internet, spreading the local outage to beyond Malaysia’s shores. It is unclear if users with other local Internet service providers are affected, or the extent that TM’s network is affecting the rest of the world. |

this is clearly not an incident. looks like someone doing the CR and everything went wrong.
since this node is not on Level 1, I strongly believe this is related to TM IPNOC. |

both side fail, TM and and Level 3,
Level 3 as Global Tier 1 provider should filter prefixes from its downnstream, while TM go send full bgp route pula BGP route poison/leakage usually happen. infact on local MYIX, it usually happened when new member (smaller/new ISP) join in. hence i always put max prefixes filter on my border router. |
