what should i do??

after few month i should know confirm or not, but 2 day my boss inform me that extend 1 month to review my performance whether stay or leave

My situation is
i as a freshgrate join in IT vendor line,my cust did not satisfy my performance because i delay my job

after that when i go back home, i also feel not if i am fresh, better i join in end user side (even in vendor can learn alot, but the problems is can handle or not)

Im not going to touch about the past thread..
Im just gonna give my opinion based on this thread.

Well, your customer complained about u and your boss decide to extend ur probation to review..
Thats fair..

I doubt ur boss will fire u after the extended period..
Unless u get complainted again...maybe..
U're given extended (2nd chance) could be :-
A) company not enough ppl.. (i dont think so)
B) Ur boss really wanna give u chance.

So now, u can refer back to your previous thread...
Should u stay or not?

Continue with your job till end of review period. Listen to your boss's critics about the review of your performance. If he decides to terminate your contract, I'm sorry for you. But do tend to ask what went wrong during your period of stay.

At the moment, buck up and put some interest in your job.

ntick,

I sympatized your current situation as most graduating students had cultural shock joining in employment market after their study party is over.

Don't despair, this is not the end of the world yet. Remember this, you can run but you cannot hide forever.

Let me cut the crap and get straight to the point. Firstly, arrange for a face2face mutual discussion with your boss, let him/her provide you valuable feedback on how you could get your job confirmation. Listen carefully, don't dismiss what she/he has to tell you because end of the day you will be the one who decide whether the given expectation (goals, objectives, KPI whatever) is within your mean or not.

At the same time solicit feedback on what you did not do well in. Most of the time, it could be simply a matter of serving the wrong dish to the customer. You need to know what your customer wants and rectify the 'error'.

Besides working skill sets, our personal attitude is also important. Let your boss knows that besides doing your job you are willing to learn and change at the same time. Assume your boss is your restaurant's customer, he/she will eat at your outlet if you give him/her what she actually orders NOT what you want him/her to order.

Ever visited some eateries whereby the owners insisted we order certain food just because they thought everyone wants one? This is a good analogy in working life. Everyone is just different.

You need to 'listen' carefully what your customer (boss) wants, discuss about it and deliver according to spec, I am sure you will be successful in any other venture.

Even after you tried your best, if nothing works at least you know the reason why. More importantly, you did your very best. You dont have to feel bad about anything even if you are fired end of the month. Tomorrow is another day, go seek your lucky star in worst case scenario. Not all customers are fussy, someone may like your cooking eventually.

BTW, I believe you should have seen my long winded anwer by now. Good luck to you.

U have more than 1 and 2, dont limits yourself.

Ask yourself (and do a summary)
Did u put in real effort ?
Is this job you wants to be in ?
What your boss expecting ? And what if you are your boss ? praise you ?
Did you improved since 6 months ago ? In which aspect ?
Do you think u will pass the probation in another month ?
Do you think the same will happens if you quit and join a new company ?
Do you think ... its time to go home ? (ok if u really answer this a yes, go pack and quit)

I think you should take this as note... narf03 did make a clear question to let you think of yourself and effort in this 6 months. Does the delay job because of lack of interest on the jobs? or anything... think and i know you can make a right choice wink.gif

yes probably yes... when you work happily/interest in ur jobs and you can spend more time on your jobs.

Boss treat u good, coll treat you good (no politic), salary was good bonus was good and boss giving chance to learn (might possible if you really find a good company)

Then you might think... this what i am looking for...

It doesnt matter whats the reason for the review extension. A lot of companies are like that (feedback from my friends). You were promised 3 - 6 months probation and now an additional month, what is there? Little thing like that you cannot take, dont even talk about working for vendors. Go, run back to your mummy.

as u said u r fresh in d industry..people do make mistake..don't run away from d prob just bcoz ur probation period got extended.

extending probation period is so common in d working world nowadays..instead u should take d chances given to better improve your performance, show them that u can do it !!!

personal advice..if u wanna learn stuff n survive in IT industry..it's better that u started off with small/medium vendor company. coz vendor company got lots of things to do and u might need to 1 leg kick sometimes, but it'll benefit u, u'll learn more in this kind of situation.

S T A Y and accept the extension with open heart, provided you like the job. Ask your boss for second chance that you are interested to be part of the company.

L E A V E and resign, tell your boss you are looking into something different. It's not something to be compliment when you are bz taking half day leave for interview while extending your probation period.

Remember, we won't know when we'll bump into the same boss/colleauges again in future. Even if you cabut, must leave the company in good names! icon_rolleyes.gif

All da best n Good luck!
