You guys probably shouldn't do it while the devices are under warranty. Components are rated at high temperatures, they may be uncomfortable for us but they can run perfectly fine warm. Some Class A devices regularly go up to 60-70 degrees C for years fine, resistors are regularly rated up to 100-120 degrees C.

Yea, voiding the warranty is a concern of mine sad.gif Anyway, for me the main concern isn't that the Mojo gets hot while in use. It doesn't, when in use it only gets mildly warm. But during charging is another story (charging only, not using at the same time). It gets *hot* then. Plus, I'm getting only around 4-5 hours of battery life from the Mojo via USB. Must be the low sensitivity headphones I'm using with it.

Finally, my schiit heresy arrived!

Pairing with the recent topping E30. my dacx6 retires - i fried my ac adapter the other day.

My thoughts, using the HD6xx:

- Vocals are cleaner and clearer
- the shaping and imaging is superb - very fun to listen to
- It's very clean! almost no hiss with IEM's (1-2%?) - noticeable hiss with the previous dacx6.
- listening session is not so fatiguing compared to the dacx6
- i hear stuffs i've never heard before - on familiar tunes.
- so much juice left, over 11 o clock my ears will bleed.

Downside:

- they don't look the best - E30 is longer and the Heresy is wider . LoL
- the knob of the schiit amp turns smoothly, but I kinda miss the dacx6 clicky knob.
- the switch at the back of the heresy is kinda annoying ... need time to adapt

But overall, I'm very happy with the stack, it has brought me closer to my music more than ever.

The latest buzz DAC literally just one post before you.
Be advise it is purely only DAC, no headphone AMP.

No, what I meant is latest buzz. The DAC not buzzing. blush.gif
Basically you paying for the features when buying DAC.
I'm using DX3 Pro, it's a great little DAC and headphone AMP combo.

Topping stuff aren't available locally and have to be imported, right?

There are some reseller but the price will be higher than imported. If buy at Lazada/Shopee even though it is from China you no need to worry about tax or anything, it will deliver to your doorstep.

ordered 29 Apr, got it on the 15th May.

I'm from sabah, so it's most likely to be faster if you're from the west :-)

if you're looking for something cheap, can try the S.M.S.L M3 dac/amp
i got it for RM200+ from lazada
simple and functional, quite loud too, can even power my Edifier R1700 speaker, bass is more compact compared to onboard

was considering the Drop O2+SDAC, but found a reddit thread saying it doesn't sound as good as M3 laugh.gif

You use the headphone section to power the speaker? Should use direct out to avoid double amping

yep, they don't look best, but it doesn't annoy me. I push it further behind the wall and it's ok now :-)

I think they both perform quite similar according to this .

I went with the heresy cuz it has more power, but i don't i can hear any difference either.

Guess it all comes down to aesthetic, which you think is nicer hahah.

I'll move it here since I just realize the other thread was headphone related rather than amp/dac lol.

More power is good as well, but I do prefer the heresy metal build, than the Atom plastic build. Seeing people saying the Atom does better for IEMs tho, might get the Atom instead at some point, if I'm aiming for a budget amp.

Next time I plan to get the Hugo2 tho if got more budget. Really impressed with my Chord Mojo. Buy used also ok rather than new lol.

Yo guys,

How do we read the power ratings of a speaker?

These in-ceiling speakers come in pair.

For NS-ICS600, it shows 20W x2, so i can get a 50W rated amplifier (speakers will be wired in parallel so 20W + 20W = 40W).

But i am confused with NS-ICS800. It shows 50W RMS. Does that mean 50W + 50W for both speakers wired in parallel? Or 25W + 25W? Not sure to buy 50W or 100W rated amplifier for this pair of speaker.

Thanks.
