No. Even if it can, it is not legal

Let's make it clear now before people posting similar kind of things.

Go to Start->Run->Type "cmd"

Type "winver"

Judging from your ignorance, I believe you're running 32-bit Windows XP tongue.gif

and you're point is? Many ppl that used RM5 windows can also use this if they learn how to use google properly. and not to mention you don't have to pay anyhting to use it's burning and ripping feature fully, unlike a certain media MP3 player wannabe

@sototng, vista version better looking, the taskbar is transparent when playing full screen, thus your video won't be cropped

@hean, no. it's lower than 10's usage

for those who want to use the latest Windows Media Player codecs whithout installing Windows Media Player 11, you can get Windows Media Format Runtime 11 @ here (7.7MB)

Windows Media Format runtime is required for WMA (Windows Media Audio) and WMV (Windows Media Video)

@ahtiven, do u have real player or real alternative installed? u need either one for rm playback.

well, i'm using Real Alternative to open RM file in WMP. And WMP will not support RM. Remember that it was REAL that lead to the windows getting into that problem in Europe about bundling WMP in Windows.

Change your WMP shortcut to be "wmplayer.exe /Task:NowPlaying".

It will start on the Now Playing tab like WMP 10 did before.

I find there's a bug in WMP 11. Switching in between compact and full in with preferred skin always changes back to default skin. I've to constantly re-select my preferred skin. This didn't happen in WMP10 or previous versions. I've rolled back to older version..easier and less problem for me.

There's totally no clear advantages of using Windows XP SP1, but instead

- There's no more support from Microsoft anymore. Means no more new patches, fixes etc.
- A lot of new applications cannot be supported.
- It's unsafe to use.

as samurai1337 say
there is no more patch and support from microsoft regarding SP1

then, there is no more ways to install WMP11
unless u find some 3rd party software

When I launched WMP11, the default screen is "Library". Is there a way to change it to "Now Playing" like WMP10/9?

You might want to read here to understand more about the new features
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme.../11/design.aspx

For a media player itself, what other new features can you think of?
