Why does bank not give promo rates for existing funds which matured? Isn't it better to retain customer than lose customers like us (cause we all withdraw upon maturity and hunt for other banks with promo rates). By giving us promo rates, less likely we will withdraw those funds.
They won't lose customer and they will gain new customer (people come with fresh funds). |

QUOTE(pearl_white @ Aug 18 2015, 09:04 AM) While you guys are running here and there for the best and/or promo rates by wasting petrol, time, parking and etc., which eventually depletes your interest income, Some of us don't trust banks without pidmat BR, its 4.285% per annum. Just ask over the counter for "special rate", and they give it to you. There is no need to waste time buying newspapers, reading all the so called "promo" and what not with step up rates, existing funds, etc etc and end up getting mistreated and/or misinformed. AT THE END OF THE DAY, 4.285% FROM BR IS STILL UN-BEATEABLE. |

QUOTE(eric84cool @ Aug 19 2015, 11:23 PM) CASA is current account/savings account. CASA is only needed in the following scenario :1) Deposit of >12 month 2) FD promo which required you to put X% of your FD into CASA = lowering the original rates you are suppose to get = less profit from banks This post has been edited by Ramjade: Aug 20 2015, 03:46 AM |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 20 2015, 08:40 AM) As for the eFD you mentioned, i.e. MBB, HLB and CIMB, you telling me their eFD board rates higher than over the counter board rates? Actually someone posted a fee pages back, maybank eFD with acreenshot for Islamic fd 1 month is 3.25%. Board rate is only 3.15. So this eFD is higher by 0.1% |

QUOTE(ninjawin @ Aug 20 2015, 12:01 PM) Difference. Name. How they use your money. Interest is not call interest in Islamic. But call profit. Cause they cannot have interest. Who cares what they are call, as long as they give better interest than others. If it looks like duck, walk like a duck and quack like a duck, then it's a duck despite being of different species. |
