I have already recorded down yours earlier, so I know your SCB schedule as per above. When the time for donation comes, I know who to look for.  brows.gif  brows.gif

My 4.25% 15 mth SCB FD second batch is on 19/9. After yours. So you become the guinea pig this time.  tongue.gif

Anyway how is your interest for today, in already ?

But SCB is having some kind of issue as one forumer reported just 1 or 2 days ago that he did not receive the interest.  shakehead.gif

hehe, just logged in and it is already in rclxm9.gif SCB depositors unite cheers.gif

What's the deal with receiving interest earlier then upon maturity? Unless your sum is very big.

that feeling when you just woke up and log in to see some cash in your bank account even thought it is small lust.gif

QUOTE(smas @ Sep 5 2015, 11:01 AM)
I can now clarified. Went to UOB branch ytd and they automatically offer extra 0.05% for 6 and 12 months FD, regardless of your deposit amount.
*
haih, uob..if automatic then just make it uniform across all branch lor..

Its pure FD, no need savings account.

Not dare. Just curious. tongue.gif

1) One must know whether there will be interest paid monthly or not when place FD with a bank. And how do we know? Half the time counter staff won't know all this kind of stuff.
2) If you are not a priority customer and your amount is small say rm10k, are you willing to drive to the bank to demand the payment? (you are not even sure if will succeed) - waste petrol and time. If got RM, different story. Just give a call.
*
no need to be a priority customer or have RM or spend money to drive/park/phone. if the T&C is valid, just an email will do.

*
Yes, they do. If not, just email to Bank Negara as long as we the customers are following the T&C.

Can't afford HLB Wise since need to swipe 10 times X RM50 each swipe and with non-waivable annual fees. sweat.gif  Seems only way is use Maybank Ikhwan. Gotta wait till next month only can apply since it needs at least 3 months payslip to apply.
*
QUOTE(Ramjade @ Sep 8 2015, 01:03 PM)
The swipe can be used for Petrol/Groceries (depending which one you use more) use maybank ikhwan as backup. For Petrol. You can pump rm50 repeatedly. For groceries,  just buy 10 x rm50 voucher and use that voucher for shopping. For utilities, you can split payment via uob payonline.  Help your family to pay their bills and split the payment. Say TNB rm100, uob payonline and split payment to rm50 x2
*
QUOTE(imationyj @ Sep 8 2015, 01:10 PM)
Wow. Didn't know that we could buy the shopping voucher. laugh.gif Most supermarket have that kind of service? Btw, for insurance standing instructions, it counts as a swipe too?
*
QUOTE(Ramjade @ Sep 8 2015, 01:36 PM)
Yes. Tesco, giant, Aeon, all have. You even topup TnG at places that count as petrol/Groceries,  hence maximising your cash back.

Yes for insurance and SI. However insurance is not counted into the 3 categories. Hence no cashback.

Ok on the extra 0.05% for UOB promo. It is only offered by branches in the central region as their GM is more aggressive. Unable to copy down the list of branches as I was on the road. I told my branch to tell their GM to be more aggressive next time too.

*
Just get her to call up any branch in the central region. For my case, I will just let it be and hopefully my branch will feedback to their own GM.

I will tell you this, if you haven't put your FD, go chase that 0.05%. If you have put your FD, let it be. You drive to the bank to argue for that 0.05%, your petrol also burn. Not to mention need to find parking, waste time
*
all i did was a simple email to inquire about the matter and no phone calls from my side. no need to spend anything extra. regardless of that, at the end of the day, it is all about the principle. not arguing but inquiring. at least with the explanation, now we know why some branches are giving out the extra percentage and not feel cheated or anything.

Yes, all banks can give banker's check (including UOB) when FDs become mature, except bank rakyat
which offers IBG only.

If I remember this correctly, last time I got the UOB banker's check for free when put the name(s) on banker's check
as the same name(s) as FD cert, but that time was before the implementation of RM 0.50 check processing fee and GST.

For example, if John & Mary are joint-name on the FD cert, if you put John & Mary as beneficiary on the banker's check.
you will get the banker's check for free.

But not sure if UOB is still using this same policy or not..?
*
Different branches diff policy. For example, my BR branch still issuing banker's cheque while my UOB branch charges fee for it even though I point other branches foc.

For the uob extra 0.05%, it is only for branches in the central region.

Not sure how we define "central". I just called UOB Jalan Sultan Ismail. The person who picked up the call insist only 4.2% max. I told her I'm depositing 150k she said no way 4.25%. I then asked if there's anyone I can speak to who can grant special approval, she said she's the one has the ultimate decision, very arrogant. Then she said at least 500k only she will consider, that's only consider, not confirm. And she said no way other branch giving 4.25% on amount less than 500k. Of course I believe the few who got it, just that they are very inconsistent, and for this time, very arrogant.

Damn.....forget about UOB, I'm going for Maybank 4.15%, since it's 10 months and more convenient for me to open in Maybank than UOB.

p/s: Anyway just wondering if it's worth to wait for the OPR announcement this evening, assuming in unlikely circumstances BNM increase 0.25 basis point, how soon and how much increase in FD rate we expect.
*
Maybe you can try Puchong branch. I can only remember this branch's name when the list was being read to me.

I would just place the FD today. If there is an increase in OPR and banks are offering new rates, then you can consider to just uplift it and place for the new promo (different bank for fresh fund).

Wah you separate to so many certs? not sure you already know or not. For UOB, even though we place all in 1 cert, we can do partial upliftment without affecting the rest of the fund.

Hello, you have more than RM 10K, the fact is not what you previously mentioned you placed only RM 10K;
maybe you have more than 50 certs of RM 10K each, that's why you can get 4.25%....?
*
I confirmed with my branch dy. For the extra percentage given by the selected branches, the amount doesn't matter as long above RM10k

TQ. Mine one is on 19/9. I think should be OK.

But there are at least 2 forumers here that did not get their 6 months interest. One of them PM'ed me. I think either he have to take drastic action like complaining to BNM or just have to wait till maturity.  smile.gif
*
Ya, i think SCB should be aware about this already. Just they might have missed some accounts, so hv to inform them about this issue. Mostly, it depends on the branch manager because SCB will push back to the branch.
