The new models are Daikin GA, which is actually the old YORK. The new YORK ACs are now rebadged from Midea or Haier.

The older Daikin is from Daikin Thailand, which is also the original Daikin.

Daikin Malaysia does sell the original Daikin, which is directly from Japan. Just that you need to pay a hefty price tag and it comes only with R32 refrigerant.

Compare to Daikin and Daikin Ga, Daikin definitely is better but Daikin GA is good as well just that we are used to people saying Daikin AC very quiet and we got the same assumption when we buy Daikin GA AC. But that is not the case, buying Daikin GA AC is actually buying the older YORK AC. YORK AC are not meant to be quiet, it is meant to  be powerful and cold albeit slightly noisier than DAIKIN AC.

Everything is the same as the older YORK AC except the compressor. You can try to import Daikin AC from Thailand if you want the quietness. There is no doubt Daikin AC Inverter is the quietest among all the other brands of inverter available.

You can always ask the AC contractors around. They will tell you that Daikin is the quietest for the inverter range.

I find this model airflow noise quite loud.

MHI quality is better and originally made from Japan/Thailand. ME is a sub brand from Mitsubishi itself to target residences market.

if you open space like the hall, buy normal without inverter but with R410. the inverter does not help when you use in open space. it will consume more electricity.

then find reliable with long warranty from vendor such 5 years warranty compressor warranty.

i will go with daikin if you compare with MHI

I am using non inventer MHI now but my compressor caput after 3 years using. lucky got warranty. when check spare part, freaking expensive.

daikin is good as it based on lagendary york. daikin also cheap compare to MHI, spare part also easy to find and warranty cover same as MHI. that my reason why choose daikin.

i did asked before, the installer not recommend to do so.. forgot the technical reason..

About 40% different from my old bill.

And change from 1hp to 1.5hp.

my experience using Daikin for 4ys is really comforted silence.but I think most of the new inverter model have silent mode. but not sure bout another brand bcos mine is really low sound.

I'm looking to buy a new aircon and i thought daikin is good brand. But some how went to a few shops they kept commenting that Daikin aircon is very noisy.
Asked them what noise is that, they said the inside unit wind blowing sound and compressor also very noisy.

Is that true Daikin AC very noisy?

By the way, a few shops kept pushing for Electrolux. I hardly heard of Electrolux famous for aircon. Any opinion about their AC?

The implementation of anti mould cleaning is straight forward, where the fan rotate at the very slow speed after you switch OFF for 1-2 hours until the condenser fin dried up. You can simply switch to fan only mode (air circulation) after used at slow speed for 1-2 hours will do the same thing.

All 3 different electrical shops tried to convinced me it's noisy and try to ask me to switch regardless which any other brand seems to be better than Daikin.
I guess is the commission.
