My 5 years olds Panasonic inverter gave me lot issue, change pcb board once, flap motor spoil, last week suddenly not cold, sifu check and said gas tank is empty, he refill the gas. He came yesterday to check again, found the gas level had drop to half and coil are frozen, he said need take down to check which part are gas leak.

I decide arrange to install new air conditioner Panasonic cs-xpu10xkh, total damage RM1980 ( price increase 100-200🤦‍♂️)

May I ask, air conditioner need surge protector ?

like to ask.

My panasonic XPU10XKH-1 i usually set it to fixed speed (2 speed), recently the fan speed will max out few second and drop back to fixed speed, happened randomly, very anoying when quite night.

I check the there is no error code , what would causing this fan speed issue ?

My old National A/C is doing the same too. The fan will blow at max speed for like 5 seconds when I turn it on.

I thought this is normal.

Panasonic came to check, they said the blower is full of dust, take out and clean it.
After that no more weired sound , kudo to technician thumbup.gif

great .
but i thought your original question/issue ..  was  the fan  auto  run multispeed  randomly ?

do you burn  joss sticks  near  the AC s.?  the oily smoke  usually  builds  serious dust  on the fan .
or your area very dusty ?   cos   my AC   daily use  now 5 years also  i check  the fan still clean .
*
I bought aircon last december 2021, located in my room, not so dusty.
Usually I set the fan speed to fixed 2-3 speed, what i don't like this aircon, when set swing angle to auto, when reach 90 degrees (horinzontal) , the wind noise is very loud, i guess the swing design issue, generate loud noise.

topic for discussion .
set fix speed  or  auto fan speed.?

from what i know the AC  works at best efficiency/ cooling and humid control ..
when fan is set to Auto speed . The AC control logic  controls fan speed thru out operation .  this will mean  variable speed depends  on some variables ,  gas pressure, temp  , etc..
*
Set to fixed speed, i am light sleeper, don't like auto, will wake up when feel temperature not right or any sudden noise. doh.gif

i am assuming  this is 2021  so  about  6 months  usage by now.
looking  at the dust layer on the fan ...  sure  need  cleaning  .
dust on fan have known to cause uneven cooling , air flow noise, unstable air flow  .. etc...

i would say  you have a very dusty  enviro./ if 6 months  usage
not sure why.
my  AC fans  some 3 years  still ok. and  been cleaning all  fins  IDU ODU  every year.
*
Maybe those dust come from bed or room outside, now i know the root cause rclxms.gif need schedule clean the aircon.

Smell appears when you first switch on before the compressor runs?

How often do you clean the indoor unit filter? Is the fin area dirty?

If DIY, I'd just try to clean the indoor unit using aircon spray.

Yes, it got mold smells first switch on, hire techincian clean the indoor and outdoor unit every 6 months, he even use the anti bacteria gas spray the fins, but still got smells.

i just go DIY find the aircon spray, see can work or not.
