Planning to get two units of Daikin Revo cassette aircond 2hp for living and dining area in a double storey house. Two aircond shops I went to ask for price told me no point to get inverter since its open area ie expose to staircase n kitchen. Both shops said I won't get the energy savings effect from inverter. Just wanna ask if that made sense.

Is Daikin inverter the best choice for downstairs living room? For typical double-story terrace house 22x75..
*
Not answering if Daikin is the choice selection butbi was advised by the aircond shop no point to get inverter aircond for living room in a double storey house as it is open space and wont reap the full benefits of inverter aircond.

Ah I see, good to know. Btw most of these aircons comes with some ionizer or something? I thought I read before that these kind of ionizer things are not good for health, or maybe I could be remembering wrongly
*
I think it is own preference. Most household electrical or electronic products nowadays are trending toward 2in1,3in1, 4in1 and so on which is inevitable for space savings as property size is shrinking especially in the dominant high rise residential properties market.

I am a firm believer of more functions in electronic products with mechanical parts, higher chance of malfunctioning with higher repair/replacement costs. If space is not of a concern like a landed property, just get plain vanilla electrical and electronic items for their own function even though it means take up more space. Nothing wrong to have aircond in a room with a separate air purifier, or a washing machine and a separate dryer.

When I was shopping for aircond, was looking at Daikin 5 star inverter, narrow down to FTKP and FTKU with minimal price difference between the two. FTKP came with plasma ionizer but the catch is, it has higher power consumption than FTKU so I went for FTKU and get myself a separate air purifier since Daikin is not renowned for that.

Yeah true this sounds not bad. Btw the FTKU and FTKP is just the model name difference, is it? Or they are acronyms for something?

Yup, even Daikin inverter rated 5 star got a few models, depend on what u need and budget

2 units of 1hp each, one like the one shown in the picture, the other one at the sofa

That sounds like a sensible suggestion to get 2 x 1hp given the space and layout instead of 1 x 2hp. I wonder if it's more energy efficient to get a system 2 of 1hp, since both wall units will be on simultaneously.

Just sharing for knowledge. I bought new airconds for price include standard installation. As the existing aircond pipe is not R32 so ask to conceal new pipe and wiring for extra charges. After done installing 2 pipes woth wiring, i found out the installer not using SIRIM approved cable with the inner copper wire seems to be very thin compared to the MEGA cable my wireman is using.

Aircond installer said if need to use Mega cable then need to top up. Got me upset as the cable options was not put forward. I dun expect they must use Mega but at least must be SiRIM approved. Installer said the specs is provided by the aircond shop so he will convey the message.

Lesson learnt, i should not have assumed they will use SiRIM approved cable by default.
