QUOTE(paskal @ Sep 2 2017, 10:58 AM) any HVAC engineer here? does the gas line must be vacuumed before being charged? because i've never (ever) seen an AC tech carrying one of these vacuum pumps in my life. none of the local AC installers that i've ever paid have ever vacuumed the lines before charging. issit the cause that some of the units doesn't cool as fast (i.e working at lower capacity) like the panasonic ACs (thus making it slow to cool)? Just thought I clarify your question. Usually if new aircon, installer don't vacuum cause new unit have extra bit gas inside to purge out when piping are connected. This extra gas are put in by the manufacturer straight out of factory. You only do vaccuming when you moved the aircon to another location, reconnecting piping etc.

Hope some one can share or help me with my inverter aircon.
Model: CS/CU-S10NKH
Lately the unit not cold and hence I try to troubleshoot. So far notice compressor cut off and in every +/- 3-5min.
I check error code cannot find any fault. Only showing H00 which means no abnormality.
If some have similar experience with Panasonic inverter like this please would appreciate your advice.
Lastly, have anybody ever fix an inverter aircon before or who to call?

QUOTE(slimey @ Mar 8 2018, 09:58 AM) Likely indoor coil clogged and dirty. Frost will form on suction line. Sensor detect indoor coil cold and suction line cold. Then compressor will cycle on off to defrost every time got frost on suction line. Thanks slimey. I actually call up PM and they provided me 2 dealer number. One is Chiam Seng and another Star Air-cond. The first one Chiam seng was nasty and quoted me a higher price then what PM stipulated for visitation charges. Star-Aircond was great and the guy actually thought my unit is ok and no issue and offer me tips and advice to test it out further. He too suspected it was either intake/piping sensing wrong in the indoor side. Therefore with your input, I will probably ask my air-con service guy do a thorough cleaning and see what happen there after. Suspect either dirty or sensor faulty which is unlikely. Thanks again

QUOTE(slimey @ Mar 8 2018, 05:05 PM) Just have a peek at the outdoor unit. If there is frost on the suction line (the bigger pipe), then confirm la. If indoor coil sensor problem then will only have initial cold then no more cold. Have to turn off then on again to have cold, then again no more cold. Indoor room sensor very very unlikely to spoil. Inverter is very difficult to troubleshoot. Actually one of my friend suggested I check the running current with a clamp meter but I don't have one. Reason was suspect gas leaking but then usually after running long time error code will appear because it can detect unstable current. I have eliminated many possibilities already just hope it's coil dirty n needs a good clean. By the way I left the Aircon running for more than 8 hrs also cannot observe timer led blinking. So no error. Therefore will just have to wait for my regular Aircon guy to come next week as he's busy. Just to share to other forummer, I bought a new unit Panasonic PS9TKH-1 online around rm1.1k unit price only. This one is for my another room which was without Aircon.

Just want to share, if anyone planning to install Aircon in new houses better install piping with R32 Gas. R410 r being phase out soon. Many country already have law banning R410...etc and allow R32 only. Thailand and Singapore already implemented. Hence old piping r not compatible.

QUOTE(arju @ Apr 3 2018, 11:04 PM) hi, if the aircon copper routing until 51ft for 1.0 HP. Will it take more energy to cool and take longer time to cool also? tq for noob question. Not advisable. If not mistaken max 15ft....longer not enough pressure and cooling efficiency not good. You may have to consider to up the horse power. This post has been edited by sairay: Apr 4 2018, 02:54 PM

Best and if possible buy aircon with R32 gas. All the old gas phasing out soon and you don't want to be caught with old piping spec and compressor etc.
