QUOTE(Str33tBoY @ Mar 21 2016, 02:46 PM) A mitsubishi basic unit vs inverter... if the AC is sized correctly for the room, then the inverter will save you more $$ via electricity savings. if its undersized, it will be the same as standard unit.Which is a better go...? Rm1020 vs Rm1380... Installation not included... Dis 2 confirm quiet rite? |

QUOTE(weng-aircon @ Mar 22 2016, 10:16 PM) You can diy if you won't mistakes the wiring. It's not hard to change if you could use a ladder to climb up and open the entire top cover. You'll see a round capacitor. Size like a vitagen. Don't even need ladder. Its just a foot off the floor haha. I think quite easy. Saw the guy do it. Just unplug 4 wires and plug them back into the new one and voila. But where to buy the capacitor? |

QUOTE(weng-aircon @ Mar 25 2016, 01:54 PM) No. Faulty capacitor won't cause high amp aka makan current. When you notice your current getting higher because of air con is this few issues. english ok wor... 1. Compressor will goes high amp aka makan current when outdoor heat exchanger is dirty. When is dirty. Refrigerant in the heat exchanger can't fully produce enough liquid to the FCU. Which means when it can't produce enough liquid + vapor to the indoor then suction can't get enough vapor. Then compressor have to try hard to produce liquid (compressor will start makan current when trying hard to produce liquid) 2. Faulty fan motor at the outdoor. Check if the fan running slow. If not the heat exchanger can't fully release the vapor in the coil. My English very bad. But try google look for refrigerant cycle and you know what I mean. i think perhaps its the coils were dirty maybe? i also dunno. the fan seems ok. am considering whether to change AC or not to an inverter model as its a small room. the current one is a Haier and already like 5+ years. but damn good. so cold. i sleep with it on 27-28 hahaha. if 16 sure mampus beku. so maybe its just overpowered or something |

QUOTE(weng-aircon @ Mar 25 2016, 02:04 PM) If the air con is working fine I don't seem to have any idea of changing it. If the current air con gives you enough cooling and you're happy with it then should be fine. If you have budget then change. Haha. yeah i guess... no budget now. will wait to see if its rosak. but it might just be because its been extra hot these days so need more powaaa |

Hi Sifus
considering replacing the AC unit in my bedroom (i think its 2hp, will need to confirm later - came with the unit) but it looks pretty old - already yellowish. My room is around 23sq.meters (250sq. feet). I will ONLY be using the AC at nighttime to sleep. Do you think switching to a 1hp unit (non-inverter) is enough to cool the room? My current AC unit running at 26*C. right now my bill is pretty damn high and after looking around i feel its probably due to the AC usage, perhaps due to oversized for night time as when i wake up to check on my son, many times the AC seems entered into off cycle. thanks! QUOTE(ck2chan @ Oct 24 2016, 11:56 PM) aiyoooo. hmm. then maybe consider getting non-inverter hahah. the piping is not concealed in concrete, but behind plasterboard. maybe can just pull it. the AC i got in my bedroom i just found out is 2.5HP. which is a bit overkill hahah. i think 2 is nice and slightly oversized... 2.5 really... dunno what the previous owner was thinking. |

QUOTE(weng-aircon @ Oct 25 2016, 01:52 AM) Bro. Not only none inverter need to replace the piping. All Aircon stated using R410A refrigerant need to replace the pipes. Good luck! oh yeah forgot about the gas. the AC looks pretty old, so i guess definitely need to change piping. will consider... money a bit tight, so maybe just keep using this for a while. maybe a month or two change to 2hp inverter Usually the old Aircon I will donate to rumah orang tua or rumah kanak cacat. Some of them really tight budget in getting air-conditioning. Donate to them is helpful. |

QUOTE(Taira @ Oct 26 2016, 11:26 AM) Hi Sifu here, is inverter unit really save electric bill? Planning on purchase Panasonic 1.5 inverter cost rm 1900 include installation or daikin 1.5 inverter RM 1900. or just stick with non inverter unit? Square feet 19.5 X 22 = 429. not remember the height (for master bed room) i think at 429sq ft. 1.5hp inverter will not save you money. you will need a 2hp at least (calculate your room need around 21,400btu/hr - daikin site)i saw someone write, using undersized inverter will cause 10% more electricity consumption than non-inverter.
