Only if i have seen halcyon thread much more earlier, my a/C pipes, big and small are wrapped in one black insulation loosely, that's pretty common everywhere...

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Oct 16 2017, 06:59 PM) Can redo if you want esp if AC is placed near above window and compressor is outdoor. Fastest way is to use Insulflex (locally manufactured) if you want to retain piping. Paircoil have to change piping but their pipes are very solid so long as bending is done correctly. Gas capture and refill will cost. Perhaps time this when general servicing is due. thanks.unfortunately all are burried inside the wall and ceiling for 2 rooms can probably redo for my 2hp room. Aircond vendor will know the insuflex right? |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Thanks. The existing contractor, when asked, he just say the normal layout out, 2 in one insulation is workable for invertor without issue. K-flex Insulflex will ask around next time |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Oct 17 2017, 10:42 PM) No don't go that route. That's mixing. Insist on individual sheathed. I gather you may need to hack to widen. Wrapping two in one works but the AC will operate higher. That's the normal complaint why ppl complain inverter don't save. Two pipes with the refrigerant in different phase wrapped together in one insulation equals mixing. The compressor works harder that way. Thanks, then I think I can only ask them to hack the one beside the wall, only add in one more hole. For living room, compressor and FCU is located back to back, so very easy to reinstall the pipe. But since the space is big, I don't have any plan to upgrade into inverter AC, cause the AC will work harder but will never reach optimal temperature. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Went to ask around and a AC vendor said, the pipe configuration (two pipes in one insulation) is standard, because both are "cold" pipes, unlike those AC that are "hot in hot out" then definitely need separating insulation... Just pulling a fast one? |

Toshiba do the thing automatically, just don't switch off the main power switch after usage.

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Nov 24 2017, 07:58 AM) Wow, thanks for sharing. Means it's ON>CLEAN>OFF ? From what I read from the brochure, the FCU blower will run without cooling for a period of time before it stop. So i just leave the main switch on.Which model of Toshiba do you use? Any feedback or comments? Not sure, but seller said Toshiba is very reliable. http://toshiba.com.my/air-conditioner/ras-...-1-0hp.html#tab Got the contractor install according to your guide, but no paircoil or arm a flex. Will post a photo of the pipe when I'm free Instead, they use insulflex and suplon, installer said the surface of insflx will peel off sooner than suplon / he think superl is better. |

@ halcyon27
Try to follow what you guided, basically insulated separately, rubber pad on the bottom, cable conduit. ![]() This post has been edited by outpace: Nov 28 2017, 07:01 PM |

QUOTE(zeefri @ Jan 4 2018, 02:23 PM) Idk if anybody already asked the same question but I have to wonder whether it consumes lots of electricity when we put AC on standby? Because I already set the ON timer and OFF timer settings so I rarely touched the remote control let alone turn off the main switch. I don't bother to because the compressor or the FCU will continue to blow air to prevent mold growth. What do you guys think? not quite sure about electricity usage. |

After my new Daikin R32 GTR running for 6months, it was off for one week as I had been away.
This morning, after using for the first night (24c), discovered water trapped in the blower housing. My installer asked me to observe 2 more nights, my question is if it's installation problem, then this should have surfaced long time ago? Could it be gel foaming in the condensate pipe? I see not much condensate water coming out from my toilet floor trap. would air cond behave like this after a period of long rest? |

How do you spot a good air-conditioner servicing and an average one? any difference on the detergent (red colour cleanser) they use?
By the way, service interval for a 2HP air-cond should be like? once a year? Washed the filter once a month. |
