Can we service air cond already?

My air cond motor seems to be running all the time even though I have switched it off via the controller. And there’s still something running in the air cond with air flow.

The only way to stop it is to switch off the main switch from the wall. And the moment I switch on the main switc, it starts again. There’s no light or whatsoever on the unit, even the flap hasn’t been opened until I click on the remote control, just the motor running inside.

Is this a major issue? Do I need to look into new replacement unit?

Could be PCB faulty (does not respect the OFF state); because the indoor (IDU) blower fan should only operate when it is in ON state.

Why PCBs go bad?
PCB can go wonky over time (electronic failure), or it could have been overvolted by lightining surge (if u did not cut power to it using the switch box but just off using remote).

is it still safe to continue using for now?

yeap , already asked the tech to come and replace it,

Then in time i will replace it and place it at some other location.

so that new model is good? btu about 9550

Now can do renOvation already? My air cond also needs replacements.

Any good 1HP air cond to recommend? Im leaning towards Panasonic as all the panasonic air conds that i use at my house can last about 10 years easy, granted with good maintenance. Should i get inverted air cond, does it really save so much energy?

Hey all, wanna ask you all ah, usually how much is the price for installing a new air conditioner in KV area? Cause the air conditioner repair guy came and checked my air cond and recommended me to change new air cond. the model he recommended he quoted me RM1.4K, I did a quick search on Lazada, that Panasonic model is only about RM1K, even SenHeng is selling at Rm1.2K. That’s why I’m thinking to get someone else to just install instead if that’s the case.

What is the problem with the current AC ?

Normally for new installation, is about 150 to 180. Some installers will also charge to dismantle the old unit.

The board spoiled already. And it’s already 10 years old. Very hard to find parts.

Now that I think about it, maybe his quoted price is not so bad I guess. I live in high rise condo as well.

You can go all the way to save hundreds of ringgit by buying them online then paying installers etc, but costly in time. That what made me went offline for this kind purchase, sometimes its not worth it to wait for a very long time just to save few hundreds.. if involving few Ks maybe.

Yes you are right actually.

No harm to shop around.. the usual rate should be around +230 to the price of aircon 1hp from electrical store (eg Jintex, Legend) to get their "panel installer" for standard installation. I am reading it as a not much work required beyond remove existing old AC and hooking up the new AC, since piping and power point all ready.
*
I have decided to go with his quotations. I look at the compressor for this particular unit and its really not easy to remove the old and install the new one. They will have to climb a lot and risk their lives too. Also will need to dispose the old units and etc. since they did come and check already so ok la. If i get another contractor they might tell me one price now, and then when they visit my unit, they might tell me need to add extra costs later.

what model is that?

i got quoted for RM1550, daikin 1HP inverter including installation

Daikin for Rm1550?

I only use Panasonic, cause my family has tried plenty of other models all will go back to Panasonic. Hehe.

It’s very reliable and quiet, and they usually last for around 10 years or so, quite durable I feel. But granted that my family does proper maintenance periodically.
