How come so many support Daikin wan, but also got same amount who complain about it. Hmm..

Anyway anyone heard of Gree? Heard that it's relatively unknown in Malaysia but it is the best and no complains wan oh.

cause Daikin while it has it share of issues, Daikin has relatively cheap and widely available parts for repairs unlike some other brands

this is from my AC technician from his POV from the type of AC he serviced most of the time

That's a tough choice. You want something that easily spoilt, so everyone makes spare parts for it...
or....
something that rarely spoilt, but difficult to find spare parts for it?  laugh.gif

yeah or you get the worst of the above choices, always spoil and no spare parts sweat.gif

But won't there be spare parts for a commodity item like an a/cond that always spoilt? If the 3rd party spare parts manufacturer can make money, won't they choose the parts for the model that always kong?

If you were a car spare parts manufacturer in Malaysia, would you make brake pads for Myvi, or for Dacia? That's my logic anyway.
*
i get the idea. basically people want to untung also, so why would they stock spare parts for models that dont break down often or rarely used.

good news however most of the spare parts are actually interchangeable

i rmb last time my compressor capacitor kong and the model the technician used can be used for literally every compressor as long same HP

panasonic AC from what i heard besides parts exp, reliability is an issue also

Can't speak for the Panasonic but my room currently using Sharp AHX10BED. The reason I chose this was because of the price, very affordable for 5 star Inverter AC. Been using it for about 7 months now running almost 24/7.
Pro
1. Very good cooling capacity.
2. Very strong and powerful blower for 1HP.
3. Start up around 700w and then once reach desired temp will average about 200w.
4. The indoor unit is huge, which I think is a pro because can spread cool air more widely.
5. Outdoor unit very small, maybe suitable for tight spaces like apartments/condos.

Con
1. Very basic remote control.
2. At 700w, the compressor is very noisy but at 200w, cant hear anything.
3. The indoor unit sometimes makes a weird rattling noise, as if something is loose in it, maybe poor QC?
4. I was told by an AC technician, this particular model uses aluminium fins in the outdoor unit which can rust, not sure if that is true?
*
aluminum doesnt rust compared to iron, but i think he meant as in corrosion?

cause they arent an alloy, so they arent so resistant to acidic/alkaline or whatever stuff like steel does
