Coming here to learn about aircond from sifus for my new condo

Below are my current plan, and some suggestion to seek from you all

1. 1x 1.0HP inverter for master bedroom

2. 1x 2.0HP inverter for living room+dining
I also plan to have the aircond install at balcony wall, rather than sofa/TV wall so it can be blow directly to dining area as well
The only concern is the balcony wall are facing sun so not sure if this will affecting the temperature sensors for the A/C
Else I have to split to have two A/C for living room and dining

3. 2x 1.0HP non-inverter for two bedrooms

4. Utility room (size 1850x2150) to convert into working space to work from home, plan to go with 1.0HP inverter
Since it's so small and no A/C piping/power ready, should portable A/C to be consider? How about the electric consumption?

5. Should all these A/C have individual compressor? The allocated space for A/C was 460x1900

3. 2x 1.0HP non-inverter for two bedrooms

Consider changing to  Midea inverters AC  ...    cost not too much vs non AC

less noise  from  ON/OFF  operation
save some power .

#5 You can fit 4 compressor into what I assume is AC ledge with standard bracket right? 5th one is on balcony wall.

#1 #3 #4 you can get inverter since its not expensive.. UNLESS 3 (two bedroom) is used as storeroom nobody sleeping one.
Inverter only 1099 for Hitachi RAS-X10CJ on Lazada.

#2 2hp inverter may be a bit overkill if its not that big space. The ODU at balcony (assume there is no JMB or bylaw preventing this) should be installed where it can be shaded if possible. Although the ODU is weatherproof (and it rely more on moving air to cool) but long extended exposure to sunlight UV will make the paint and plastic parts (eg fan cover) brittle in a few years.

The difference in shaded or baked aircon ODU is ~1% - http://oaktrust.library.tamu.edu/bitstream...IC-10-10-52.pdf
This is because the ODU fan cools by air movement (it moves a lot of air). Erecting some sort of homemade "shade cover" using coregulated plastic sheet is only for aesthetic purpose (sacrificial protection) to prevent the paint from cracking up from the sunlight UV only. Though as you have to leave the fan opening "circle hole" cut out this will do nothing for the fan cover w.r.t UV exposure ya.

#5 yes individual is better for MY. Anything goes wrong the others can continue to operate. This is not SG where they only allow you to put one big ODU feeding 3-5 IDU.

Thanks. For compressor I will go with individual then
On utility room, will need to see how much costing to add the piping and electric point as well

2. My living+dining until kitchen is 3150x9850, so 1.5HP should be sufficient? Piping and electric point guess also need to extend and cost to include.. I have attached my layout here

Yes, that item 5. is A/C ledge, will try to put all over here including the living mainly due to JMB, however not confirm yet

3. Two bedrooms mainly one for store and one for standby for guest if there’s any, so mainly will not be use. Will have price comparison and see if budget allowed smile.gif

Hi, I know I asked this before, but my final choices are these, hope to get some feedback before I place ordered,

Planned to go with below for 4 rooms 1.0hp and 1 living room 2.0hp with all Sharp

SHARP AHX9VED2 R32 1.0HP INVERTER
AHX9VED2 (INDOOR)+
AUX9VED2 (OUTDOOR)
9700 BTU

SHARP AHX18VED2 R32 2.0HP INVERTER
AHX18VED2 (INDOOR)+
AUX18VED2 (OUTDOOR)
18000 BTU

Or should I go with mixed brand with Panasonic? Currently planned for living room and main room with Panasonic if quality is much difference or able to sustain for longer duration/maintenance because of frequent usage

Able to find 1.0hp Panasonic but might need your comment on 2.0hp

PANASONIC CS-XPU10WKH-1 1.0HP X-DELUXE INVERTER R32 AERO SERIES
WITH NANO TECHNOLOGY AIR COND
CS-XPU10WKH-1 (INDOOR) +
CU-XPU10WKH-1 (OUTDOOR)
9680 BTU

1. GREE was no.1 in China market. Now overtaken by midea becoz midea had better online channel. Hai urgh noisy ODU, if its great it would have conquered its local market tongue.gif in MY, Gree Queen Inverter R32 spec pretty good.
2. Toshiba now not sushi but its a sub brand kinda thing under parent co Midea. Do not be fooled.
3. Get the one with heavier weight IDU ODU, more metal could mean better fins and cooling capacity. It actually depends on the series..within the same brand also got great and lousy series.
4. Shop salespeople work harder on the brand that give best commission.

Myself just placed deposit for x3 1.0HP SHARP AHX9VED2 R32 1.0HP INVERTER and 1x Panasonic each 1.0HP CSXPU10 1.0HP and 2.0HP CSXPU18, hope all good

Also with above comment for living+dining, it's not recommended to go with inverter? Should I change then?

Living one I presume long hours usage will have savings because its like driving somewhere..if you use a car just for 2 min drive it doesn't really save anything between an eco car or old guzzler because it haven't been able to touch the highway.
But once the aircon already cool to target temp, then it is very saving for inverter..like cruising on open highway at the speed limit, such condition you can hit the 20km/L or whatever advertised fuel efficiency the car has.

Dining area one maybe used for mealtime only then not much diff.

Thanks, and you're right makes not much difference and I don't planned to install one at dining area, will leverage the aircond from living area or fan
