My 8 year old 1.5hp Panasonic inverter coils have frozen up and blocked and was quoted around rm 1150 to get everything fix.
But my family wants a brand new aircond instead of repair.

We already have a Mitsubishi 1.5hp and 2 Panasonic 1.5hp deluxe models and 1 Panasonic 1.5hp basic model.

Since we tend to prefer our room very cold instead of just cool, which air conditioner would be best for the job?
I believe many deluxe models advertised as saving electricity affects the coldness performance by aiming for coolness instead.

I am not interested in automatic features anymore. I just want plain cold air as we are sports oriented family and so we need cold not just cool air

What about 2hp - Daikin or York or Panasonic.

Which aircond is best to produce really cold air? icon_question.gif

Since your Panasonic got problem. Don't try to put 16°C since it may freeze the compressor.
You want cold room? Do you want energy saving air conditioner?

Not interested in energy savings.. ...JUST COLD AIR NOT COOL.

Regarding my old airconditioner (inverter):
Panasonic service came over and quoted me the price. Obviously better to buy new with warranty.
They said maybe it was the servicing people who damage it when reinstalling after using Karcher jet spray because it happened after.

(Actually I have 2 aircond with problems. I replaced the medium room aircond with Panasonic 1.5hp so now my only remaining problem is the inverter as described above)

So which aircond out there is recommended for reliable cold air? I do not care for energy savings or gimmick features.

16 degree it will cut off????? Inverter compressors never never will have cut off in their dictionary. Inverter compressors never will stop. Only runs high load or low depending on the temperature. That's a joke to me if a panasonic tech guy tell me this issues. Please. Ask the previous guy to check the refrigerant. Please be beside him to look at the gauge if there's at least 140psi. Coils frozen only happenes when refrigerant running at 30psi. I think your air con guy take down and wash and install back there's a leakage.

I mean to say they told me the inverter will stop producing 16 degrees when the sensor detects the temperature is achieved but compressor still rotating. (Sorry my mistake as I have another problem aircond using 410 refrigerant which is not inverter )

The pipes connecting to the inverter compressor are all whitish. It happened after the servicing. The gas is 150. No cold air at all coming out. Just fan blowing warm air.

Why so expensive to repair? It probably the thermostat faulty cause the compressor keep pumping. The evaporator too cold till keep ais and block the airflow.

All the aircon produce really cold air. There is no fake cold air.

What you really want is the aircon size. Get the over size aircon.

The copper piping looks whitish. No cold air at all even though the inverter gas is full. So you suspect the pipe only is block not the coils?
