The only thing i know, MHI is not a newly accomplish company, and it involve in commercial heavy duty aircond system very long time, so residential aircond is just a kacang putih to them, and MHI even exist and support Japan during WW2. More into budget user becos it cheaper than ME?? Hell no and not logic at all. I can also say ME is expensive becos its name. Singapore user prefer MEQ not necessary means MHI quality is inferior compare to ME, just becos ME also produce fridge and other electrical appliance, so its name is more familiar compare to MHI in SG. If you look at MHI brochure, the PCB inside the MHI compressor is comformal coated to prevent corrosion by humidity, ME got or not? No. Support wise, ME service center is at Tun Aminah, MHI is at Johor Jaya, i can't see any lack of support at all.

Anyway, I just purchased a 2HP MHI inverter and 1HP MHI inverter, 1HP i choose premium YL series, which got alot of comfy and extra features compare to my current ME GJ10, and lower consumption too (0.67kW vs 0.8kW), so this new MHI will be my main aircond for my master bedroom since i will use it 10 hours per night everynight. The current ME 1hp will move to guess bedroom for reserve purpose, and the 2hp model i choose YN series, only less comfy airflow function, the rest are same. Outcome, i save almost RM400 compare to ME.

I think the 2.5hp is too powerful for the 360sqft.
Also, please take note of the ME 2.5hp, the outdoor unit is huge and the weight is about 60kg. The indoor unit is bulky too.

I advisable you replacement the whole set, even gas pipes.
Old piping & old insulation may condensation anytime + old wire can't take higher load as well.

Concealed, just forget it, can be used back for the pvc drain pipe only, for the new copper pipe may used with trunking as well.

For MS-GH17VC was the non inverter R22 still available?
Can be used with Sanyo old popline as well.

If the latest model MS-HK/GK already R410A not suitable for R22 gas pipe anymore.

MHI slighly better and quiet than others, just a bit high price, the other option for Daikin inverter, you won't disappointed of the coldest n energy efficiency too.

Your condition just like mine b4, concealed wall for R22 AC, after we decide to change over R410a, then re-run new copper pipe and wire for R410a, but we can't used back the existing copper gas pipe already, end out died died used trunking and hack off the wall, for the gas pipe through into our bedroom and bend up to ceiling.

At least can't see in living room, just slighly ugly on bedroom. Since this is can keep cold.

Attached here is my electricity consumption with 2 inverter ACs on every night (10-12 hours). I lost my previous history where without inverter AC, my electricity shot up to RM 250++ (around 600-650 units)

So I am not to say that I support anyone here, but inverter AC do really save $$ if you need AC everyday.
