The AC point at master bedroom provided by the developer is not accompanied by the AC drain pipe. The other side of the AC point wall is the living room, so cannot just drill to the back to drain the water. There are some of the ways proposed:

1. To hack and conceal the wall to embed the piping towards the right side so that it drains out to window by gravity. The horizontal length is about 3 m. Con is cost of hacking and concealing, more labor intensive.

2. To install a drain pump at the AC unit so that it is able to collect and then pump the water in a drainpipe upwards and then above ceiling towards the window. Con is need power socket, maybe be noisy, cost of drain pump, and another layer of mechanical element.

3. To fix the AC above the window. Con is need to make a new AC point and mainly the breeze flow from the AC wont be blowing directly towards the bed.

Is there any other solution? what would you do?

Secondly, I got a quote of RM25/ft for the AC copper for laying the tubing connecting the AC with its compressor. Is this a fair price?

All opinions are welcomed. Thank you.

add: If you have contact of AC man that can do AC drain pipe in Melaka, please share via PM smile.gif

Hi, is aircon usually connected via plug-and-socket or direct wiring? 1hp

If want direct wiring, the wiring can be hidden behind the aircon, correct?

Any comment between Panasonic CS-PU9AKH standard versus Sharp AHX10BED? Both 1hp inverter, 5 stars rating but a couple of hundred price difference. Thanks

QUOTE(darkcurves @ Feb 3 2025, 04:32 PM)
Can't speak for the Panasonic but my room currently using Sharp AHX10BED. The reason I chose this was because of the price, very affordable for 5 star Inverter AC. Been using it for about 7 months now running almost 24/7.
Pro
1. Very good cooling capacity.
2. Very strong and powerful blower for 1HP.
3. Start up around 700w and then once reach desired temp will average about 200w.
4. The indoor unit is huge, which I think is a pro because can spread cool air more widely.
5. Outdoor unit very small, maybe suitable for tight spaces like apartments/condos.

Con
1. Very basic remote control.
2. At 700w, the compressor is very noisy but at 200w, cant hear anything.
3. The indoor unit sometimes makes a weird rattling noise, as if something is loose in it, maybe poor QC?
4. I was told by an AC technician, this particular model uses aluminium fins in the outdoor unit which can rust, not sure if that is true?

Thanks bro, I just went ahead and bought this Sharp model earlier today biggrin.gif

Can I straight away turn on the aircon after installation? How long to let it run to check for any issue.
