QUOTE(Nail Biting @ Feb 19 2016, 12:26 PM) when is the appropriate time to replace air condition? Old A/C do consume more electricity.i have and air condition around 10+ years (national brand) does old air condition consume lot if eletric?? Appropriate time to replace your 10+years AC (depends how often you use it), I suggest when your old AC started to mul-function or not cold, then don't spend money to fix or service, just replace it. Also start research for new AC, when there are some promotions or good deal you only buy, since you're not in hurry. |

QUOTE(Nail Biting @ Feb 19 2016, 03:04 PM) actually all of my AC at home more than 10yrs You have how many AC? All of them frequently use?and recently years my house eletric bill hike up (around rm300++ ) just wonder if it a good investment to chance all the old AC to new power saving AC Maybe you should replace 2 nos. with Inverter AC and see if the saving is attractive enough. Usually should save you RM20-30 per AC per month. |

QUOTE(feverboyboy @ Feb 19 2016, 03:25 PM) i checked the manual and it only teach me how to OFF/CANCEL Timer and i did 2 million times liao...it keeps blink and auto off after an hour...dam frustrated... Not about timer. The blinking light just tell you there are error in your AC. Go to your manual, usually the last few page. Maybe under TROUBLE SHOOTING or ERROR CODE section. Will tell you what's wrong with your AC. The AC auto shut down to prevent further damage.i even changed to new remote battery.. This post has been edited by keyser soze: Feb 19 2016, 03:42 PM |

QUOTE(Nail Biting @ Feb 19 2016, 03:46 PM) Panasonic and Daikin are made in Malaysia, spare parts should be easier to get. For durability, I prefer Daikin, but Panasonic premium line looks quite nice and come with more function. Try to compare these 2 brands. This post has been edited by keyser soze: Feb 19 2016, 04:05 PM |

QUOTE(zzzhhhzzz @ Feb 27 2016, 11:59 AM) From my cousin... She is using all three Daikin Aircond inverter... Out of 3 got 2 pcb failure... She bought 2 years ago though... But the Aircond quite cold la... 2 years ago definitely made in Thailand one. I also using 2 nos R22 Daikin inverter for almost 3 years already, so far 0 problem. PCB usually kong is due to unstable voltage for lightning strike. Now a day inverter technology is more matured, failure rate should be relative lower. |

QUOTE(zzzhhhzzz @ Feb 27 2016, 12:16 PM) Hmm ... They have a new inverter series.. Q and T series.. But no spec sheet... Want to see if its more energy saving than Panasonic inverter... As of now Panasonic is one of the more energy saving one Never heard about this Q and T series AC though. The more energy saving the more expensive the Ac going to be. If money is not a concern go for R32 refrigerant AC. |

QUOTE(kazekage_09 @ Apr 17 2016, 11:28 PM) greetings fellow forumers, My vote is 2 nos. 2hp non inverter wall mount do spot cooling. Means the AC facing the sofa and dining table. With ceiling fan should be alright. If budget allow go for 1 no. 2hp and 1 no. 2.5hp. I planned to install an aircond in my living hall. Need recommendation on: - HP power - inverter or non-inverter - should I consider centralized-type? - brand (got 2 room airconds now mitsubishi and samsung and mitsubishi is the best) - roughly the estimated additional bills for a month Here are the details: - it will cover my living hall until my kitchen. It an open style house so nothing I can do about it. Size about 45'x18' I think (1 big tile is about 2 feet right?) - there also stairs to 2nd floor. - weekdays will use maybe 6pm-9pm. Weekends maybe twice 12pm-3pm and 6pm-9pm - I got a very high ceiling living hall so the volume is more i guess. - Windows not tinted. Many thanks! |

QUOTE(Justice_Sword @ Apr 21 2016, 08:54 PM) Please beware when using this company for aircon, water plumbing, rooftop, electrical service: Perkhxdmatan Hup Yat If the AC all the while is ok or still cold. I don't think it's necessary to top up gas. More gas don't means good.Handphone: Ah Lai 012-287644x Evon 012-687204x Office Tel: 03-4270 709x I asked them to wash 1.5HP Inverter aircon. They said the RM160.00 price is all-in inclusive with gas (coolant), After they washed, they said already add 2 bar gas, need RM40 extra, so become RM200. I was not happy with this, I called them, they said since when I promise to give you RM160 inclusive of gas? I said you told me this in telephone. They didn't dismantle the aircon, they only wash the casing, and put chemical and splash the outdoor unit with water. less than 40 minutes in total. I asked them why didn't you dismantle the aircon to wash? They said if always dismantle, the aircon is prone to malfunction. I told them many people outside also dismantle the aircon to wash. If only splash water like this, outside only collects RM100.00. He said I have my price standard. I told him this is not logic excuse. The female boss said to me maybe you only use the aircon for first year, you dun have knowledge. I asked her, you see the aircon downstair, is it possible I only begin to use the aircon? or the first time I find people to wash aircon? She changed the topic. The male boss said RM40 is small amount, I dun want to argue with you. I only collect you RM160 enough. I told him, this is not the money problem. This is related to whether it is logic or not. You din dismantle the aircon, you refill 2 bars (This upstair aircon has only 1 year history) and then you charge me extra, before you said RM160 is all in unless the gas are almost all gone. He said, dismantle the aircon to wash is antique method. He is using latest Singapore technology. In Malaysia rarely have people use. I said yaloh, rarely have people only splash the water and charge RM160.00. I asked him, you only splash the water from outside is cleaner, or you dismantle it and splash it from everywhere is cleaner? He said new technology is 100% same with dismantle method. Dismantle the aircon to do deep cleaning is sakai method. You dun know aircon. Many sakai outside also dun know aircon. I said Yes, I dun know aircon, but I know market price. He said he doesn't want to talk with me anymore. He said you pay RM160 and this is settled. I dun want to talk with you. I said, boss, you cannot do business in this way. If like that, I wont give business to you anymore. He said you give me I also dun dare to accept lah. I have plenty of businesses to do. Very busy. You only wash 1 aircon, not 100 aircons. This RM40 I give you. Then the conversation ended. This is typical bait and switch. bait-and-switch noun the action (generally illegal) of advertising goods that are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior or more expensive goods. "a bait-and-switch scheme" For chemical clean both indoor and outdoor should be spray with chemical and rinse with running water. For indoor unit, if they don't dismantle the coil they should use plastic to cover the wall and others area and collect the water with a big drum. I actually prefer this method. Because after dismantle the coil, there are risk for gas leak if not tighten properly. Also risk of some noise of you didn't fit back the casing properly. My point is, if you use the AC for 1 year and it was cold, don't touch the gas or open the piping join. Especially for R410a, which is a blended gas, which contain R32 and R125. My 2 cents. |
