Thanks for your input. Haha. I actually went and survey and ask some shop, 1 suggested me mitsubishi Mr. Slim and get a seperate plasma purifier. They told me the plasma purifying function integrated in the air cond is very weak, if really want then should get a stand alone air purifier for better result. And mitsubishi is more long lasting, faster cooling and quiet compare to daikin.

Do you happen to know if Mit > Daikin? Price also more less the same for 1hp.
*
Air purifier is ALL about the filters. If one compare the filters for both it is very obvious that the salesman advise is a good one.

finally got my pana x-premium installed, when i use iAUTO-X, the air cond like blasting at full power all the time and quite noisy, is it normal?

i thought it will automatic adjust the power....
*
The auto function works similar to an auto car going uphill, downhill or level road. It will adjust when it sense the right set temperature.

My 15 years Pana 2hp finally decided to call it a day.

Replaced the compressor, capillary tube, vacuum and refill gas.

Does anyone have this problem? My AC blower wheel gets dirty very quickly. When this happens the compressor gets very noisy. Once I cleaned the blower wheel is ok.

All air cond filters in the market now doesnt help much to filter dust. Is worst if the environment is dusty.

You can either ..

1. Wash the filter regularly, or

2. Add another filter to increase filtering efficiency but it will reduce airflow. Is available in shopee or lazada.

Searching for a/c, it seems Daikin (FTKU) and Pana (CS-XU) are harder to get.
Mind to share the shop and price. Thanks

I got National model (90s)whereby some parts of the indoor unit like the motor and blower is semi faulty, but outdoor unit still good. Is there anyway to replace the broken parts inside the indoor unit? The a.c. repairman said the model is discontinued thus won't be able to get anymore replacement parts is this true?
National brand air-cond from that era were much reliable than Panasonic today right?user posted image
Looks about like this model.
Also wonder why those National Aircon indoor unit were way slimmer than the bulky ones today?
*
Unless you know the part number or ac model, you can try to search online.

I replaced my 2hp Pana indoor blower motor in nov. Took it from a spare spoilt unit. Market price is RM160.

Most of my Pana ac are above 10 years which is considered good oredi.

It's actually CS-903KM. Either CS/CU i think this the region code.

What breaks is the bushings if the blower wheel. Once detached or out of alignment, grinding noise happens and may stop the wheel movement completely. May I  know is bushings originally molded into the blower? Or is it attached only by glue? The foreman had tried various tricks like saying he went to buy a new bushing and then use Super glue to paste the bushing onto the wheel. It last for a few months and then it breaks again. Also the blower motor is generating bearing noises which the foreman said is something he can't fix as he dont have the motor for this discontinued aircond.
*
Cant comment on your unit as I havent own a unit.

As for my unit, the rubber bush sits on the motor without any glue. When attached to the blower, it sits firmly on the body casing.

Im not exactly sure what happens with my unit, probably something went loose somewhere hence the foreman kept apply superglue and it detached again soon after, not durable. I suspect something was broken during one time we called then to wash the air-cond and the blower bush problem started happening, before that all was good except the motor bearing noise which was bearable if we don't set the fan speed to medium or high.

Thinking back, it could be that the blower bracket is broken? 1st time we called them to repair, they didn't mention about bush. What they did was took out the blower and superglued something on the little screw hole at the end of the tube, either 1 or both sides. second time, they said they replaced the bushing, also did some superglue fix that I can't see clearly where they fix
*
Wear and tear is normal for any product. It may break eventually no matter how careful the foreman.

The blower motor will get heated up during usage and disintegrate the glue

I am installing a 3rd unit ac , keeping it to panansonic as the other 2 is same. although i like the Media All easy pro for ease of self cleaning.

The 2 models i am comparing

CS-XPU10XKH-1 (1.0HP) - rm2,000.00
CS-PU9XKH-1 - rm1600.00

I compared the specs and they differ slightly.
Does it account to much benefit (XPU) if I am using it 8 hrs at night to sleep only?

How do you intend to monitor or measure those specs?

AC is about btu cum cooling efficiency to room size and maintenance.

For invertor ac that dont run 365/7/24 is diificult justify for the price and energy savings compared to an invertor fridge.

Does anyone know how to reduce compressor noise from being heard inside the room? We have a Louvre style windows bedroom, the type of window pane like our government classroom. We mounted the compressor outside directly under the Louvre window and we could hear a constant humming and whirring of the motor even when inside is set to Quiet Mode it is even more audible.

Compressor running sound .... no. Depending on brands, some are noisier.

Rattling sound ... tighten any lose screws or insert rubber damper in between metal.

It's Panasonic CS-PN9WKH. Wonder if anyone has this can comment if your compressor sounds loud?
*
Non invertor ac tend to be louder during operation.

Well, you can do something to counter the noise ...

1. Use earplugs.

2. Reposition the outdoor further away,

3. Change to casement window type

I wont go to the extend changing ac with no guarantee as either the above should minimise the noise.

Original placing ..

I move to new place because many tech ladder have difficulty to reach the outdoor unit for servicing.

Guys/Gals.
Between Panasonic CS-XPU/CS-XU or Daikin FTKU/FTKH

1) Which of this two Brand/Model are easier to dismantle, access the blower unit to DIY clean?
2) Which have a higher energy-efficient Digital Inverter that helps to reduce energy consumption?

This is how I diy my Pana AC ....

Not sure about Daikin.

Hi all wanna ask.
I calculated BTU in my room at 8000btu.
A 1hp Daikin is 9000btu and 1hp Panasonic is 9400btu. Is this sufficient?

Generally how much tolerance of btu is required so that the a/c don’t over run?
*
1.5hp.

For a split air conditioner, can you insulate the gas and liquid coil together in a single sleeve?
*
In theory, hot and cold are not banded together. However the practise for many years since split unit was invented hasnt cause known damage to the ac.

Having said that, both piping are 'insulated' together in concealed wall, unless one wants to leave the liquid pipe exposed.

Was wandering, why most installer conseal both pipes together.
Read somewhere that's supposed to wrap separately.🤔
*
For the piping behind the indoor unit, the free space is limited to have separate insulation.

For others it is "easy' to work since they are taught that way from the 1st 'master' and through experienced house units liquid piping are not 'hot' compared to those commercial units in office towers or shopping complex.

Hi all, want to ask why my air con having bad smell when turned on? gone after few sec.. fairly new aircon 6month, not using everyday..
*
More likely the cause is a dead lizard or cockroach trapped inside.

shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif seriously? but i take off the filter, i dono see anything inside there... only abit of dust in the filter..
*
It is normally stucked in or around the blower area. When you switch on the ac, you will have a strong smell initially.

Use a torch light to check the blower area. If you can find something, use a sate stick to remove it.

If your house have many of those, that is the likely cause.

Anyhow, you still need to service / take down the ac to check if lizard is not the cause but that my main suspect as I have experienced that b4.

Btw, is it moldy or 'corpse' smell ?

hi, i also have a question here...my aircond usualy generate the jelly and will cause blockage... it is a very old air cond and i find the jelly occurance more frequent lately...
will it help if i change to a new aircond?
*
The jelly like are normal in any ac.

If you know diy, is not too difficult a task. Open the casing and use an art brush and hot water to clean the drain pan and especially the outlet 'mouth' area.

Cleaning the filter regularly will help.

The right way to get rid of the smell is to dismantle the ac to the 'bones' ......

Since is not turn on frequently, dont turn off the ac immediately after each use. Switch to fan mode for 15 minutes to 'dry' the unit. It will have less chances for mold to accumulated.
