There is this Aircon contractor who called himself Edward Lau, phone number 0126522639.

Terrible terrible workmanship, attitude and service. He will first over promise and assure you everything is fast and easy job, take 80% deposit. After that nightmare will comes.

1. Never ever on time. Promise 10, come at 1. My condo only allows noisy job until 2, and he always decide to come late only to do an half-done job, and blame the condo rules.
2. Visit for one day, leave job hanging and disappear for 2 days, come for another day. Rinse and repeat. Promised 3 days job become 2 weeks job.
3. Terrible workmanship, cut off multiple existing wiring at the compressor area for multiple new units, come back couple weeks later but couldn't remember how to reconnect back now due to messy wire.
4. One of the job is to move an aircond to another area, he broke the clips during dismantling.
5. Hack wall and leave the mess for owner to clean.
6. MIA now after realizing his own work is a mess, been trying to call him for 3 days. I have to hire another technician to finish the shitty job for me, more cost.

I can go on and on. All in all, terrible contractor, borderline scammer, avoid at all cost unless you want ruin your house. 0126522639

Why have to pay 80% deposit ? .... is considered gone case.

Finished job, then pay.

Too many conman now.

Always approach air cond shop and request for inhouse tech....less problem.

sifusss. need some suggestion

where can i get AC + ceiling fans - planning to get 4 units ac inverter = panasonic or daikin (2.5 + 2.0 + 1.5 + 1.0) together with KDK ceiling fans (6 units).

is there any place can get good deals since purchasing all these together?

thanks in advance.
*
Nego with shops that provide a good pricing for a total package deal that also include installation .... preferably own employee and NOT contractor.

Any good deals depends on your nego skill as all sellers would want the max profit. No sellers would give good deals outright.

Do you guys have this problem?

Panasonic inverter xpu series..
After turn off sometimes the flap dint close completely..
Then I need off the 20A switch and open back it will reset back the position to complete close flap..

[attachmentid=11052778]
*
Most likely the flap support didnt connect to the motor properly.

Off the power switch and manually adjust the flap few times and then position it to close position. It will not close completely and restart the ac. After you off it again, it should close completely.

If it doesnt, then have to open the casing and redo the connection.

Worst case, faulty flap motor.

Thank you so much for the kind sharing.

Guess I'll go with Panasonic but it seems like their A/C aren't what it used to be considering the recent problems people are sharing here recently?

Anyone else care to share their Panasonic A/C experience?
*
I have been using pana for a long time albeit old model .... most of my ac more than 10 years and the 'newest' is 5 years for my homestay. Not sure about latest model thou as I havent being buying new ac and I always change parts than buying new set.

The most recent is a 2hp blower motor which I swaped with a spare unit....a new cost RM150.

If I were to buy new, I will go for pana.

My 5 years olds Panasonic inverter gave me lot issue, change pcb board once, flap motor spoil, last week suddenly not cold, sifu check and said gas tank is empty, he refill the gas. He came yesterday to check again, found the gas level had drop to half and coil are frozen, he said need take down to check which part are gas leak.

I decide  arrange to install new air conditioner Panasonic cs-xpu10xkh, total damage RM1980 ( price increase 100-200🤦‍♂️)

May I ask, air conditioner need surge protector ?
*
You sure the 'sifu' is really a SIFU ?

Any experienced sifu will know is not necessary to refill gas without first checking and he can tell on the spot where is the leak.

AC gas circulation is similar to your blood circulation ....if there is no cut, no blood will leak out.

ALWAYS call brand manufacturer service centre to troubleshoot. Any other non brand experience techicians will more likely be trial and error and costly.

So need 1HP ka?
Hmm...
Not going to always use them, was thinking inverter/non-inverter also ok.
Maybe 1k ish
*
Currently the market minimum is 1hp and some 1hp cannot have efficient cooling if is in 1 sty terrace or facing west. So it depends .... 1 answer cannot fit all.

Even if there is 0.5hp available, the price difference to 1hp is minimal. There is always a minimum production cost.

Since is not frequently use, buy a non inverter.

Hi, any sifus can help? My Panasonic inverter ac leaking water. I know usually it is very simple.....the drain line is blocked & water overflow from the blocked drain but in my case, the water is leaking from the air outlet (behind the rotary blower). Servicing seems to make it stop but leaking again after 1-2 weeks. The drain line already replaced. What could be the problem? Thanks in advance
*
Leaking from the blower area again ?

yes, leaking from blower area again
*
I assumed the technician has done a full proper service and it should not happened.

The other possibility is the temperature setting. Avoid setting to minimum esp during raining nights.

Also if your ac is low on gas, this can also cause the evaporator coil to iced and prevent proper air flow and water cannot flow to the drain pan.

Lastly but unlikely ..... there is a small crack in the drain pan which causes the leaking.

Guys, is this an issue / will this be a potential issue over time? I’m referring to the exposed copper wires without any insulation as shown yellow circled in image.
*
The purpose of insulation is to prevent condensation of the piping. For the uninsulated part, there will be just water dripping from the piping.

Can diy if you want it insulated .... buy from shopee or ac shop.

No, i mean for those installed the air cond at the left or right side of the room, we can set the horizontal flap not to direct air flow to the wall.

I already recalled how to do it n tried just now, its by press the "Set" button on remote, press select option 14, then we can choose which side the air cond is installed, either left, right or center.

I have another question though, is it normal if the Panasonic XU air cond is on Cool mode, with fan set to auto, when u turn it on, the flap will open n it take long time to start blowing air? It will start blowing air immediately in Cool mode with manual fan speed or I-Autox mode with fan auto.
*
Yes. I think is the sensor that is delaying the fan start up.

Ya, I started to think it's by design too. But I'm still puzzling why the delay only happen on Cool + Fan Auto setting, it can be delayed until 3mins, n what's the purpose for delaying so long.
*
It sense the surrounding temperature and select the correct fan speed.

Similar to auto car .... if drive uphill, it will auto select the correct gear to move the car

Hi, anyone know what is the market rate now for ac installation service now? Just installation, have own ac unit. Also, my condo unit comes with copper & drainage piping with power & signal cables prepared.

1) I have been quoted RM 300 per unit, is this a fair amount?

2) If all piping and power is ready, may I know what is their job scope? Is it vacuum, connecting all piping and power, bracket for outdoor unit and topup gas (if necessary)?
*
If you do not know any installer, buy from a proper AC shop to include installation. Any problem with the ac or installation, you can go back to shop.

Any adhoc installer will quote ridiculous labour charge. No reason to quote cheap for a 1 time job or unless have few units to install.

No.

Comfortable for ground floor set @ 25 degree.

Install a suitable hp and you wont have much problem.

Anyone here have any idea on how to fix the airflow direction that swings left-right on Panasonic AC?

Didn’t use it for a week and it got stuck blowing air to the center of the room even though the remote is set to blow towards the left side of the room sweat.gif

Try manual adjustment to 'lossen' it. Then reset
