Actually why it would be easier when it comes to maintenance? Actually a real example, a friend of mine bought the daikin inverter series at the same time when she moved house. Not the cheap ones btw. Then a couple of years later all the inverter aircons breakdown one by one within few months, board issue. Out of warranty and the fix is very expensive. Maybe that batch got the problem. So sometimes better to mix and match.

Can cannibalise lah like having own junkyard.. but by the time it may make economic sense to change to modern inverter, since OPEX of dinosaur is high. I had one dinosaur unit 1.5hp running 24/7 for one month the bill balloon to 900. Typically its 130-140 w/o aircon. After that billshock scared to use edi.

Hello, I having a Panasonic inverter r410a and was freezing and not cold. The installer said leak gas and i replaced the piping and topped up gas.

However it is still not cold now. And he said i can reuse the existing piping of R410a to new aircon using R32 gas. Is it ok?

aircond dont come with piping.........

there are other reasons as well for reusing old piping like dont want to hack wall

Thanks for your feedback. After changing thrcpiping for existing piping it still froze but a part only and not making cold.

So i decided to replace it with new r32 inverter but asking is it worth the risk to reuse the old (less than a month old) piping.

In my case, the sound happened after compressor turn off especially if air cond set to Auto mode (meaning alternating between cooling and fan mode). Later on, the situation gets worse that it also happened in cooling mode as well.

Is this cracking sound common in other air conditioner? I can understand if it happens once a while but constantly through out the night is very disturbing for sleeping. Anything can do to remove/reduce this cracking sound?

Some updates regarding the Electrolux air conditioner.
Called technician to fix, wash the outdoor unit with water and vacuuming does not fix this issues.
I think I guess will install a new one better as the technician cannot find what's the issue over there.
Wasted my RM50 and the issues still come back.      

Today start lockdown for whole Malaysia. As technician not allowed to fix air conditioner during this period.
Panasonic released new X-Premium Inverter model which is CS-XU10XKH-1.
Got one shop quoted me for RM1849 without installation. The Save 2.0 suddenly open back for a short period.
Final price will RM1649 with the Save 2.0 promotion from the government by claiming through TNB part.
So should I reserve for full price without installation now to claim the RM200 off from the government?
As I might afraid that Save 2.0 aka RM200 off will end again.

The new model comes with built in WiFi which is a bonus for me.
I wish to get the CS-XPU10WKH-1 model but no left right auto swing.

Now is my sister's room suddenly display H3. No idea the problem comes from where.
Don't wanna waste my time and money when the H3 display again after fixing.
Not only showing H3 error, left and right motor swing also spoil, can hear clak clak clak sound when auto swing.
The technician last month came said no spare part. Gonna let it go I guess. About 5 years like that.

I check variation of that price RM1799 excluding installation.
But if apply and deduct Save 2.0 voucher will be cheaper. .
The technician brought and test using refrigerant meter to test.
In the end mention outdoor unit thing dirty.
We told the guy display H3 error. Don't want to waste my time if the next technician cannot fix what's the issues.
Will try to use up the Save 2.0 voucher. Can save RM200.

Just that Air Conditioner fan gets dirty quickly due to bigger hole at the top of the Air Conditioner.
Managed to wash indoor unit before lockdown.

hi aircond sifu and expert. I am planning to move in my house soon and would need some of your advice on aircond. Currently, I had narrowed down to two brands of aircond namely Panasonic & Sharp. I am contemplation whether should I use fully inverter or mix with non inverter. My plan is to install for Living Room & Masterroom only.

Between both models which of you have experience/current using is ookay? since price is more or less similar.
1. Panasonic X-Premium Inverter R32 Series
2. Sharp R32 Inverter Plasmacluster Air Cond
Usage of aircond [can say heavy]
1. Master-room [10pm to 6am] -Mon-Sun
2. Livingroom [12pm-6pm] - Weekends / and occasionally weekdays if work from home.

My plan is to mix installation
1. Master-room - 1 hp a/c Inverter [15ft x 15ft]
2. Living room - Non Inverter 2hp a/c [covers approx 15ft x 35ft]
Which of the above is likely suitable? Prefers energy savings for long term usage.

or both inverter?

May I know what is those white spot? It looks like ice for me, but I turn off my aircon before morning, and I check evening still can see this. If is ice it should be melt after some times.

I wonder is my additional filter cause the air flow problem. I will remove it and monitor.

It feel like powder, but when press it just wet with sand feel. I use toothbrush to clean it all.

I have remove the additional filter yesterday, today looks fine. Will keep monitor.

I've been using extra filter about 7 years since install.

Possible the blower getting old? or the power not enough? My unit have extra 'Power saving' function which I can step down the power. I always use the lowest to save electricity.
