Hello everybody, is anyone out there working as IT ppl in non IT company? How is the feeling? Do ppl respect ur job? Can stand normal end user behavior? I am currently working as a system administrator. Getting bored with my job because my boss thought that every task given is easy. Ask me to complete a ldap linux samba service within a few days, groupware service in a few days....when i say it is not that easy he said nothing is hard because his bla bla bla working in IT field saying that all the job was easy job. I am a fresh grads but now getting bored in IT....is all IT job like that? Give ur feedback...thanks for sharing ur feeling....
Exactly the same feeling here pal, being an IT techie for almost 2 years now. And I am getting bored and sick of this IT position and is considering other field. Being the IT guy in here lots of people respect you in the beginning, and they expect you to know EVERYTHING related in IT, and if you cant deliver what they want, back stabbing will occur. Instead of putting the request to you they straight away forward the request/complaints to your boss. And in the fresh Monday morning before you even finish your breakfast coffee you boss called and skrew you and you dont know anything until you read your boss forwarded email. This kind of life style, skrew it, not for me, I am quitting.

I'm also under a 6 months probation and this is my 5th month. Seriosly, I get rm 1800 too. I think it's time to seek for other job because you have been a water fish for the company. Stay back if you want the exposure or resign.
Just to let u know, I got a new task from my supervisor an hour ago. The task look like this, now I have to get someone open up the cupboard by end of the day and deliver it to Penang by tomorrow for them to do video shooting. Why ask someone open up the cupboard you might ask, because the key is with the boss and they are now at Penang. Sound interesting isn't it?
My starting is also RM1800 and the probation period is one freaking year aka 12 months, guess this is the longest probation period in the industry. More importantly, when your pay increase in this kind of level your stress also increase geometrically.Just to let u know, I got a new task from my supervisor an hour ago.
