QUOTE(hong553 @ Oct 20 2015, 10:50 PM) yea, but my mom like went crazy when she found us drinking, she said i didnt take care the image as a christian She may get a culture shock. European pastors actually drink casually..you know?yea, this is what i told my mom, and holy communion serve with wine also @.@ It's nothing wrong really. They just drink 1 or 2 glass, that's it. Nobody got drunk, Nobody was embarrassed or harassed. European people really like to drink. If I'm not mistaken their beer can is as cheap as soft drink. tinarhian ps: I'm not encouraging drinking. Just saying if you are already drinking as a Christian, don't go on a guilt trip and condemn yourself. If you want to stop by all means stop. ps2: I don't drink. I think as Christian is not right to be judgmental with regards to be what happened in CHC.
I think the Bible is quite clear, with the same amount of judgement you use against others, it will be measure back to you. I believe this is in the context of judging another brother. Don't you think so? I mean you have been given the grace to be forgiven by God. Now we witch hunt CHC as if we've forgotten we were freely forgiven by God in the first place. I mean now you use what was given to you... forgiveness to hunt others down? Something is seriously wrong here. I cringe when I see our Catholic brothers so condescending oh they are prosperity gospel, that's why they get what they deserve. I cringe even when a senior pastor I know says this. In my heart I said, wow you think you're above them. Don't forget you were condemned to hell just as much as everyone else but now you act like you're all holy, better than they are. Seriously..that is Self righteousness. I base this on the passage in Matthew 18 The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant 21Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.g 23“Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of goldh was brought to him. 25Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. 26“At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. 28“But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.i He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded. 29“His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’ 30“But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened. 32“Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. 35“This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.” Let God be the judge of all, not us Christians. I don't think it's right to play God. That is one of the biggest mistake our so to speak "Cousin's" religion (the one that starts with "I") committed and that's why they have so much problems until now. Let us not repeat that mistake and keep our focus on what Christ require of us..to be forgiving and to love our enemies. Easier said than done..I know. Which is precisely my point..we have bigger things to be concern about rather than focusing on other Church problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In response to the teaching that you can judge the immoral of others, you never had any righteousness of your own in the first place, hence Yeeck your point is moot. QUOTE(tinarhian @ Oct 22 2015, 12:40 AM) Which is precisely the point Paul made,Romans 2:21 - you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? Atheist or anyone have no right to judge others. We're all sinners. my point is Let God be the judge but some teachings (like the one yecck purposely put to instigate what I'm teaching) push God aside and they want to be the Judge, replacing God. My Point being only God is the rightful judge not anyone, no Christians, Not the Catholics nor the Moslems. This post has been edited by unknown warrior: Oct 22 2015, 01:00 AM |

QUOTE(tinarhian @ Oct 22 2015, 01:08 AM) I think we as Christians are spiritually blind, we tend to forget what God has done for us. Yup.I read even Donald Trump, the Presidential candidate, have those tv evangelist to support him. We also forget, only God can change a person's heart. No one can. So for anyone going out condemning or judging others is not going to help one bit. Which is why I reject the doctrine of allowing Christians to condemn or judge others, I threat as heresy. It is not inline with scripture. What Yeeck posted is something I've already heard years ago but I'm adamant it is not scriptural correct. His point in his catholic thread saying we can judge others as how explained there is moot because we never got our righteousness by our act in the first place. |

QUOTE(simpletraveler @ Oct 22 2015, 03:33 PM) Did Christianity encouraged you to lie too ? simpletraveler,When did I mention anything about donations in other religions ? I never said churches stealing donations. I said they "cheat", clearly seen from the way they collect donations. Why can't they just use a stationed box like Chinese, Indian and Buddhist temples ? Why use such psychology tricks. I have a few threads in real world issues that showed all the evidence of Christianity cheating. Even evidence that Jesus was copied from Buddha. May I ask you to refrain from commenting about something you do not understand? |

QUOTE(ifourtos @ Oct 22 2015, 05:52 PM) This is how Catholic goes into wrong path. While : "Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them" (Hebrews 7:25) If Jesus told you HE can do it. ( meditate, intercede with GOD ) BUT You Replied : Ok Lord Jesus. But i will also ask other to do it together A Disgrace. The point is NOT "Mary and the saints can most certainly intercede for us to God." The Point is "When Jesus can do it for You", Why ask other? God Is holy. Trust and only Trust to God. Worship and only Worship to God. Have Faith to God Himself Alone. Asian Religion usually practice this : Pray to many God is Better than Pray to 1 God QUOTE(DRBS @ Oct 22 2015, 07:58 PM) Umm......but the query still remains. Hi DRBS,Is it right for us to pray for others and to ask others to pray for us? What about the times when we are unable to pray for ourselves - sick, distracted, unconscious, in danger, depressed, asleep, at the hour of our death? I don't know if you're catholic but I hope you don't mind if I share this with you. I mean I'm not forcing you to believe this, it's up to you really. We believe Salvation is given unmerited through Faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. The meaning of unmerited is Grace/Favour from God ...something you don't earn. The reason why Christ came is because God knows, you can't save yourself through your own performance. This is demonstrated and proven when God gave the 10 commandments, the Law. Nobody could fulfilled the law outwardly and inwardly. Even if one can perform it outwardly, they couldn't do it inwardly. And thus for more than 1500 years, the Law is a towering wall, nobody could fulfill. The Law is the very expression of God's standard to Man. You may ask why God gives us something He knows we can't fulfill. The purpose of the Law is to drive you to Christ. According to the book of Galatians and Romans, the purpose of the Law is not meant to be use as justification for Salvation. It's only sole purpose is to show you that you have sin. It is meant to drive you to the end of yourself to give up trying in your own self effort or self confidence. You can read it in those chapter if you don't believe me. With all that being said, in the last hours before your deathbed your salvation is not dependant on your confessions or prayers if you already believe in Christ prior to that. The Bible never says that. What is in the word of God is consistent. When you put your Faith in Christ, God accepts that and credit Righteousness to your account. Under the New Covenant it's call the righteousness of Faith not of the Law. What about repentance if you ask. My answer is this. Repentance is a process, God knows it takes time and thus even if you die before being perfected, you are still saved. If you want to find out more, I don't mind to continue but I know what will happen next so I'll stop here. |
