You play lone striker, because you want to have more midfielder to control the field, which in return or in theory should have less chance to concede goal, but instead the system deployed by the manager always leaking goal one. suggest something really wrong with the system.

Without solving the leaking goal problem, the team is going nowhere.
Even for 2nd season BR in charge, that lead to 2nd place finish, the team still leaking goal non-stop, just Suarez goals mask the problem.
In the 3rd season, when there was no Suarez's magic to rescue, the problem being exposed entirely.

For 4-3-3 lone striker formation, BR should learn from JM how to deploy this system effectively. Effective in attack, tight at the back with good discipline.

Also, you need suitable players for this system as well, eg. you can't expect Balo to play lone striker role in this kind formation.

By looking by past 2 season buy, you can't blame that fans have little confidence on the manager.

Origi and Ings doesn't seem can command a first XI striker, anticipation and positioning was not good from pre-season matches so far.
While Sturridge is not yet recover and fit until don't know when.

So left with Firmino with obvious choice, while Firmino is more like AM instead of strilker.

Many are worry about the way BR style of play that not suit for target man like Benteke, instead of Benteke ability.
