UMW standard reply to the 5yr warranty extension is they are trying to get new customers. old customers is valuable to them so make them pay more. Answer is management decided and now no plans to change. I hope more of the owners should voice out.

QUOTE(hushymushy @ May 14 2016, 09:18 AM) if i read it correctly, the extended warranty covers more on the electronics on the mechanical engine side, alot of things not covered especially things like seals, chain, water pump.....there's a whole long list and there's 1 clause that states it is at UMW/Toyota discretion for part replacement. Kinda at their mercy to accept....and you know some SC may be difficult to deal with Sounds like what they have is not complete 5yr warranty. Rather it is 3+2, where many are excluded. Somewhat like VW the 2 is not the same n insured by insurance. If so many things not cover then the cost is too much.

QUOTE(lexanoir @ May 27 2016, 07:34 PM) The indicator are not accurate at all. For your info. Once the fuel signal come out . Actually u have safe travel distance of 250km. So do your own math Manual say 9L left when light come on. But when I top up is about 49-50L.

QUOTE(lunchtime @ Feb 21 2016, 11:21 AM) Can anyone share how the Camry H works during a sustained hill climb, eg going up to Genting Highlands? Will the battery be depleted or cut off? If cut off, will be there be a loss of torque (underpowered)? I know there is a engine management system but it doesn't say much about a sustained hill climb. And what is advertised may not be as in reality. Going up cameron without problem. Even with battery going down to 2 bars, didnot feel significant lost of power. Coming down just using brake, the battery is up to fully charged. only used B for 1-2 bend.

My 2015 that had some steering noise over bump now will have noise when turning or when engine kick in. It does not sound like clicking of CV joint. When turning the steering in parking, can hear some low humming noise. Sent to Toyota but I could barely replicate the noise and they want me to keep driving.
Anyone with similar issues?

Thanks. Gonna have them look at it when I do service. I paid for the extended 2yr warranty. So they better fix it.

Was told a bolt in steering shaft is loose. While the car was at dealer the check hybrid warning came on. Had the battery replaced under warranty. Total mileage under 120,000km. Lucky I am not stranded anywhere having to tow it in.

QUOTE(kkm @ Mar 13 2020, 05:04 PM) More specifically, ask them to check the steering shaft coupling. The grease inside sometimes dries up and the connection gets a lot of free play, hence the sounds and such. A temporary fix can be done by loosening your steering wheel adjustment lever, then moving the steering wheel in and out and also turn it left and right a few times. This moves the grease around and should make things better for a while. But get it changed. Got it fixed finally. They also did alignment which I had to pay. The service rep said the shaft is inside car. But still need alignment. She is quite clueless. The initial alignment looks way off. I suspect something was done on the steering rack. The wheel turn seems tighter or heavier. Out of all alignment done at dealer, there is 1 time (ordered by manager to do) thatt made a huge difference in handling feel. But lasted only 1k.
